No vid, but I seems shaft steepens much more at A3, if I keep left elbow turned at least until A2.

Thanks again. This is bit of a breakthrough in my bid to get the season going again.

Lower hands at address. Trying to umbrella up shaft at A3 as much as I can but still a bit up and out at A4. Contact feels solid though.

@iacas

Higher hands at A4?

P.S. Skip to 0:32 to see movement.

I would recommend to practise with proper shoes on if possible, preferably the ones you play with standing on grass or something that you get good traction onto.

Finally broke down and put on the arm sleeve to quite right arm and allow palm opening. Couple of hair better as club not as across the line at A4, but needs lot of clean up. Arms, hands, back, neck needs to soften.

Sorry about the flip flops @Tepi90, I promise I wear proper shoes on the course. Also honestly I don't want to grip the ground too much anyway. Have reasons.

Can you shoot a video before coming to CHQ of your backswing where the club lays off AND your right elbow stays very wide - > 90° and off your ribs?

Yes, I am determined to put a hole through it with a cheap wiffle ball...😁

The day I succeed, will be immediately the day I design a new funky shape driver and sell it with a scream filled infomercial...😆.

I think I can do much better with a steeper shoulder pitch. Didn't record but did a few A1-2-3s this morning with a feel of left shoulder turning underneath my right shoulder. That seemed to immediately free up my arms to allow the club to climb up to plane by A3.

Swinging apprehensively as ankle still in head somewhat. But can't complain, all in all way ahead of the game.

CHQ trip couldn't possibly come at a better time.

    • Sounds about right. I forgot this place existed until now.
    • Day 5: Mirror work focusing on the start of the backswing
    • Day 82 (22 Jul 25) - played our church men’s group captains choice nine hole this evening.  Had a blast working green side shots with the wedges.  Love the format as I play a nine club bag which brings on shot creativity in a fun way.
    • Finished Bandon Trail today. Man what a course. Big upgrade over Sheep Ranch. I am giving Sheep Ranch a  7/10. Mostly views, course was good, and fun.  I am giving Bandon Trails 8.25/10. It's up there with Sand Valley in my opinion. Much more demanding of the course. With the wind it just gets brutal.  The first two holes are fully exposed to the wind, since they sit on the western edge of the course, open to the pacific. Even though it is tree lined, the wind has a big impact as it rolls over the hills and dunes. You can be surrounded by trees and feel the 20 mph wind at the tee box or fairway. I recommend using the yardage book, as it contains the course layout with a compass rose showing the prevailing wind (almost always from the north in the summer). It's easier to judge which direction the wind is going.  I played halfway decent. I hate when the shank gets loaded into the gun. Short game is on point, putting is good. I just need to make better swigs. My shot is definitely not built for wind. 😭 Here are some photos...
    • Would he not be entitled to unplayable relief and a one stroke penalty? And wouldn't the drop for unplayable plausibly be the same as the one he took?  That he cited the wrong rule and no penalty makes this a two stroke penalty instead of one? I'm assuming I'm wrong and there is a rule that prevents the player from reinterpreting his actions afterwards?  Regarding rule 14.7 - wrong place - and the general penalty. In this case, he gained a significant advantage by having an unimpeded swing? Shouldn't the penalty be for a "serious breach"? DQ?
