Hello,

I just went to maybank open in malaysia and it was an interesting event.

There were stalls for promotion and stuff. There was a stall that sells second hand clubs. I saw the titlest 910D3 that really got my attention.

I bought it straight away and then i began to research about my driver. I realized there were fakes online. I began to be obsessed researching about this driver because what intrigues me is that my recently bought is assembled in japan sticker attached to the shaft next to the hologram sticker which also looks real to me.  I thought it is made in the US? The guy told me it was japanese spec.

I did the magnet test even with the strong magnet too and it never sticks to the head.

I would like somebody here to confirm if its actually original or not.

Here are the images attached.

Thanks

sorry for the okayish quality because my phone camera isnt good.

Assembled in Japan probably doesn't mean Made in Japan. Made would actually be the making of the clubhead. Most Titleist golf shafts are Diamana, which I believe is a sub company under Mitsubishi the Korean car company.

Most likely Titleist has a facility in Japan that receives parts from USA and where ever the golf shaft is made and then are assembled there. It might be easier that way then to ship a fully made club.

As for the authenticity. That club looks legit. I own a 910 fairway wood and it looks identical to that club.

If you want it really checked out, ship it to Titleist and they will confirm it. No real way to say for sure unless you actually talk to Titleist.

Mitsubishi is actually a large Japanese conglomerate similar to General Electric, but I agree with your points about the club.
Diamana shafts are manufactured by Mitsubishi Rayon, which is separate from Mitsubishi Motors.
Very few golf clubs are made in the US, most are made in China.

First step I would take is to call Titleist and give them the serial number to see if it's fake or not.

    • Day 47: simulator day! Played St. Andrew’s and shot a +1. Not bad, especially with having to putt at this simulator set up. Had about 5 minutes at the end to work on some feels as well.
    • I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.

    • So the question was posed today by some of my friends.  Is a pitch mark the same as a divot?  I thought NO, but they argued if your ball lands in another player's divot (made by club during a swing) this was the same as a pitch mark, i.e. the ball mark made when the ball lands
