I wanted to get something to hold my iPhone for video recording my swing.. I was at Walmart and purchased the Selfiestick for just under $15. Granted I am planning on working something out with a friend of mind and I will change it so that in able to put in the ground or rest on something, but that isn't the best part. When I opened it I found a circle thingy and quickly realized it must be for remote picture/video capture.. I quickly paired my iPhone with it and it works like a charm.. It captures when you click and it stops when you click.. It has a hanger thingy so I can either put it on my key chain or hang it by my side.. Instant remote control, small, and works at a long distance not that I need it to work at that far a distance anyway.. Thought I would share, and once I adjust it I will take a picture of the final outcome..

That should work great for filming your swing, and will be less bulky and obtrusive than a tripod.  Since it extends to 46", you could slide it down in your bag just like a club, then position your bag behind you - or you could attach it to an alignment rod stuck into the ground.  Lots of possibilities.

[/quote] Yeah I thought about that too.. I was thinking I would just take the parts that are used to hold the iPhone and then putting them on a stick somehow that I can put into the ground.. But I like the idea of connecting it to a stick too..
