Whats funny is this notion that Jordan is a great putter.  It simply isn't true. Jordan's Tour Rankings:  T108 from inside 5 feet.  87th from 5-10 feet.  84th from 10-15 feet. Those stats sure don't look like THE BEST PUTTER from 5 to 15 feet.

lol, but at least he's genuine...oh, wait, what?

In my Bag: Driver: Titelist 913 D3 9.5 deg. 3W: TaylorMade RBZ 14.5 3H: TaylorMade RBZ 18.5 4I - SW: TaylorMade R7 TP LW: Titelist Vokey 60 Putter: Odyssey 2-Ball

What does this comment have to do with his overrated putting abilities?

Please try and stay on topic.  It is only courteous to the rest of the forum.

I don't recall anybody (besides the one TST member your quoted) talking about how Spieth made his hay from 5 to 15 feet.  They did talk about him and the longer putts.  Oh look ... 3 posts up (and not to mention quoted below that with a retraction from the same guy you're disagreeing with) ...

Spieth's putting rank by distance,

<5' - ranked 112th

5'-10' - ranked 87th

10'-15' - ranked 81st

15'-20' - ranked 5th

20'-25' - ranked 1st

>25' - ranked 6th

Spieth's stats are kinda stupid really. He actually gets worse as he gets closer to the hole. I think he struggles on flatter putts. Probably why he putted so well at Augusta.

I think your 5-15 ft is a bit off. There are at least 80 people who are better than Spieth this year from inside of 15 ft ;)

Both are closers, both have all the skills needed, both have different strengths but equally as dangerous.

So it really comes down to intangibles, and I think Jordan is the pick, I know it's easy to say right now because he's the hottest player on the planet but I think he lives, eats and breathes golf, and that's what it takes to keep winning, you have to be in the game every stroke of every round, I don't see that in Rory, I think his mind wanders, but its just a fans opinion.

If you watch any golf coverage, it is pretty common for somebody to revel in how good of a putter he is...

Just rhetorically I wonder how different or not these poll results would look if it came after the Masters but before Chambers Bay. My guess is they may have been reversed- I probably would have voted for Rory at that point and I voted for Spieth now. Everyone knew Jordan was good after Augusta but I think a lot of folks, myself included, weren't totally convinced on his game until CB...and even more so after almost going 3 in a row on Monday.
