Inside ... stuck on a conference call ... put it on mute, half listened, and did the office chair drill while playing a round of golf in my head ...

Did some really slow mirror drill swings with a PVC pipe "club" at my office.

Putted in the morning with a friend, and lost the putting game on the first shot 9:11. I made every second putt, even the 8 footer, though. So, I mentioned that we tied all the holes. Love this new putting stroke.

Hit 2 large buckets at range 2.

I got a couple balls to actually push draw with the Ping i25-pwr55 stiff shaft! I'm so happy. If I can do it most of the time, I'll be ecstatic.

Swing fan warm up.  Then indoor swings, 1/2, 3/4 and full.  Full shoulder turn.  Keep head still.  Hip slide/turn.  Do all of this correctly and you brush the carpet.  Don't and you either miss the carpet or hit it fat.

9/29/15: Worked on takeaway indoors focusing on low and slow... I hate when storm fronts just camp over you for 48 hours.

1.5 large buckets to morning at range 1 still trying to keep that feel from yesterday. Hit okay. 2 buckets I his evening, finally got some solid feeling shots off my new super light driver. The balls were a bit lower, but also a bit more penetrating. No idea how far they went, as I couldn't see them bounce over the little mound at range 2. Did 20 hold my finish until the ball falls to the ground fun challenge exercises. Practiced my new putting stroke some more.

I realized today that I don't really have a pre shot routine on the putting green.  Oh I sort of do the same thing, but not exactly.  So I worked on a pre shot routine.

-Look at the line behind the ball

-Address the ball to the side, slightly too far out

-Take two practice strokes, feel the tempo and length of the stroke

-Sole the putter behind the ball, along the line of the putt

-Move left foot in, then right, settle both feet

-Look at the hole, back at the ball

-Make the stroke

This seems right for me.  I did this routine 25 times and I did not forget to do an item.  It is not too much or too little.  Hope it helps on the greens.

Outside with the putter ... distance control was the main focus.

9/30/15: Another rainy crappy morning, worked on my putting line using my metal ruler this morning I actually got all 25 down the length of ruler... Now if I can just take this out to the course... I just realized I have posted 55 days in a row in the practice forum, just hope I can keep it up.

Less than 2 buckets roughly 1.8. Working on holding the finish for the duration of the flight of the ball. Seems like an eternity in some cases.

In general, it seems to be helping me with the follow through a bit better.

Still working on set up to A4. Did a little bit today in front of a mirror. But my neck is sore for some reason, so I didn't do any swings.

Lesson.  Worked on fully turning through the shot and covering the ball better.  Video review, Better by the end of the lesson.  Also worked on my putting pre shot routine, refining it for me.  After I got home, indoor swings working on what I did at the lesson, reinforcing it.

In general, it seems to be helping me with the follow through a bit better.

Missed a couple days due to the site upgrades.

Yesterday, I played 18 holes and did about 10 minutes of drills prior to the round.

Hit a large bucket this morning. for Oct. 1st

    • It’s not live on free to air tv in the UK, and hasn’t been since 1995. ( I pay a subscription to Sky for generally good golf coverage). There are limited highlights on the BBC for some golf events, but that’s it. Are other/all PGA events on NBC?  Allowing ticket scalping is a systemic failure across sports and showbiz, which could be legislated against, but in the UK is not in any meaningful way. I don’t know much about the secondary market in the US or anti scalping measures.  Charging more to keep prices down is an interesting concept, in practice no doubt you are right even if It sounds a bit Catch 22  Do you think sports tickets and broadcast rights  should be sold on a purely capitalist basis, or is there an argument to say that some sports might benefit more from wider exposure and affordable access. ( golf in the US is apparently not one of these if tickets sold out at those prices so quickly)  Fans might benefit from cheaper tickets and in the UK at least, TV coverage that reaches a wider audience.

    • Day 216 (4 Dec 24) - Dink and roll Weds - working on the green side short game covering 5-10 yd chips to low running pitches to about 50 yds (I have accommodating neighbors).  Focused on keeping stance more narrow, eye target about 2” in front of the ball AND not looking up until I see the ball leave.  This drill has really enhanced my confidence in making more consistent ball strikes.
