Didn't watch the whole thing. missed it. Did Breed say optimum smash factor was 1.0 for finesse shots? Who came up w/that?

Weak grip. Spinning instead of sliding hips forward. There are two.

But I agree it is

A weak grip...was THE grip in the 60/70s more forearm rotation then ...

A stronger grip only became popular about 15/20 yrs ago...

Spinning the hips doesn't seem to be the problem that sliding ahead of the ball is now...

Hogans book was considered a breakthrough for decades..for Ams and Pros

In the last 40 years what has teaching done to get rid of people slicing...

I love Michael Breed's show because you never know what he's going to say.

You can usually count on at least one or two "Ha"s

This might have been new research back in 1910

I think MB is a bit unrealistic at times. I mean, there's no way in hell I'm gonna go to my practice facility with a hoola-hoop, a beach ball, stand on a pool noodle and tuck a towel under my arms and be "that guy".

None of my students hit slices. Easiest thing in the world to get rid of. And not by the "cheating" ways - strong grips, closed stances, whatever.

I think those drills might be intended for the privacy of your back yard or garage.

Those don't bother me, I've used similar aids before - don't see an issue. At least for me. The swing shirt is where I might draw the proverbial line.

I don't mind MB. I like watching him overall. But I did take the bait and watch his Effect to Cause golf system. Pretty much a waste of time. But like someone said, he has time to fill and does a good job of keeping it relatively entertaining.

This might make me a bad person, but oh, man, if I saw someone with that stuff on the range, I would totally chuckle.

Unless it was 1996 Rene Russo.

This show and many other golf channel shows along with "golfing buddies" keeps our golf school in business. =D

Honestly though there are a lot of good skills they teach, the problem is they never explain for which swing type the skill they are showing is for.

Lol....yeah me too. A while back in Colorado I was at the range (of course) and saw two guys probably mid 20's get out of their cart to warm up with a bucket...one guy was totally fan boy decked in Fowler orange....I mean pants, shoes, hat and shirt ....the other guy I guess was Mcilroy...all neon green....AND....they had matching staff bags! Now the real killer......they were awful. Terrible swings....fat shots, duffs...and the neon green guy was slicing a driver like I've never seen.....they were being rather loud..a little annoying with their grunts and self cheers when they would actually hit a decent one.......so....I wasn't the nicest guy as I left by stopping and asking "You guys lose a bet?".....they just stared at me and didn't respond.....I chuckled. Sorry....I know OT
