My alignment is good my ball placement is good I feel like im not trying to hold back on my back foot, but I still hit a semi solid toe hook that loses 20 yards down the left side? I still nail a good one but those are my misses albeit a decent miss for golf! It doesn't ruin me but over all even with my irons I toe it a bit why?

Was doing something the same a few weeks back. I figured maybe when setting up I reached out to the ball a tiny little bit more (ie stepped back about 3 inches at setup) I would stop hitting the odd shot off the heel. It worked/working great for me. Maybe you stepping in about an inch or two might work!

I'm hitting the ball off the toe not the heel.

Right- he's suggesting you move TOWARD the ball an inch or two. He moved AWAY from the ball a couple of inches for his heel hits. What may sound counter intuitive is to address the ball at the toe end of the Driver. This should encourage you to make a more inside out path to the ball and really extend your arms on the downswing and at impact. At the range, being consciously aware of your swing path to correct the toe hits may be the key to avoiding them. My 2 cents, anyway.

I had a former instructor who said to feel as if you cover the ball with your right shoulder (in the downswing).

That usually helped.

Or see a less in-to-out path - approach the ball more square - see it.

Correct the swing path.

Toe hits are common to the club path arc coming back to the inside before impact.

On centered, solid shots, the club head continues towards the target after impact.

Awesome thanks guys I think it's a path to far from the inside that makes sense as I hit a push sometimes. I think getting closer to the ball would cause to me to smother it I need extension through the ball getting to close could also cause me to come to much from the inside.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
