What'd You Shoot Today?

106. Much better than my recent posting of 117 and 120. Felt much more comfortable with my swing by going out on the course more often than countless balls at the range. 2 mulligans kinda helped too.

I have no idea what I shot today, stopped keeping score about the 4th hole of 9. Chipping and putting was just killing me, not to mention having a few wayward tee shots. The saving grace was that my distance seems to be coming back. My "good" drives lately have been 230 Had a blooper today that went 245 and a provisional that went about 270, and gained back about 1 club on my irons.

Shot an 87 today (Par 72, 70.3/120)

Front - 41 (+5) (1 birdie, 4 pars, 3 bogey's, 1 trip) (2/7 FW, 5/9 GIRs, 17 putts)
Back - 46 (+10) (1 birdie, 3 pars, 1 bogey, 2 doubles, 2 trips) (3/7 FW, 3/9 GIRs, 16 putts)

Had my second lesson this week, finally making good contact, when I am swinging right, but had a couple over swings with my wedges that got me in trouble. And three bad choices, which all led to my triples.

Overall playing very consistently with the changes the instructor made, and my handicap is quickly coming down after my last three rounds.

I am new to the site...

Today I didn't want to work, so I played hookie and went golfing instead to try out my new Tour Edge XCG. Shot the best round of my life (33 - 37 / 70) on a Par 70 layout. Driver was oustanding and it helped the rest of my game all day/

Aerated greens are a love-hate thing for me... I love the result after a couple of weeks, but I hate the first few days right after they are done. Anyway, started off bogey, bogey with three putts, and finished with a double bogey but in between hit some good shots, and shot 77. Missed my first two foot putt of the year today, ha ha.

Been working on a new swing for the past 9 months. Thought things were finally coming around when I shot a 77 on a 119 slope rated course (that I'd played atleast 20 times before).

Yesterday, played Tour 18 in Flower Mound--beautiful course (131 slope). http://www.tour18-dallas.com/sites/c...422&page;=11996
Started birdie, birdie but ended up shooting a 92. Got a quad bogey on fifth hole (#15 at Winged Foot http://www.tour18-dallas.com/sites/i...ew.html?hole=5 )
Pin was back left 182 yards. Hit my 5 iron straight over the flag. Ball lands directly on cart path (just over the green). Bounces 30 yards up a steep hill. Severe downhill lie, shortsided, green sloping severely back to front. Hit my L wedge. Ball lands middle of green and rolls into bunker. Hit out of bunker, thinned, ball hits cart path and I'm back where I started.
Pins were in the most difficult positions all day (played after a competitive tournament went through)

Shot 79 at a goat ranch this morning. First time playing it and it was really in rough shape. I won't be going back.

I stopped keeping score after about 5 holes just because me and my partner kept losing our balls that were less than 5 feet off the fairway in this thick rough. I started out the round with a save for double bogey after hitting the ball to the 2nd teebox.

It wasn't good, but for the record I've played 54 holes (36 walked) in the past 2 days and I literally feel cripled, I cant turn my body any more. I'm addicted to gold and trying to break into the 80s, I'm not sure if I can take a break for as long as I need.

My best 18 hole round is 103 at Chomonix http://chomonix.com/ I'm 21 and I started golfing in July '08. My goal this summer was to break 100... and I have gotten really close, but I don't think it's gonna happen. I golf constantly, almost so much that my body can't take the stress, and it costs a fortune.

I've always been a perfectionist. I always like to be the best I can at anything I try to do, whether it's my job, or anything. So when I started golfing, I became addicted instantly and I decided that I would like to be a pro golfer. Anyone I talked to said, "well, practice makes perfect, just practice practice practice", and that's exactly what I've been doing almost every day since the snow melted in April.

Any round this year that I've had a chance to break 100, I always seemed to ruin it during the last few holes. And for the last month or so, something has been wrong with my left elbow, like I'm getting tendonitis or something, and all season long I've been trying to get a curve in my spine fixed. So a lot of physical problems are getting in the way of my practice and are making the game less fun all together.

I'm thinking I just need to take a break from the game for a while.

Drugs are bad. M'kay.

I change my swing every time I don't shoot par for the course.

Best Round: 89 at Lake Park Golf Course, Lewisville, TX   66.5/102

I shot a 94 (18 differential) with a quad and two triples. The Par 5 holes seem to be getting the best of me these days. I think I am trying too hard to get there in 2 and flub my tee shot, then press the rest of the way. I will play for bogey next round on the par 5s and see how that works.

First day back playing 9 holes of real golf!

I didn't go the range beforehand, but I had a good stretching session, and off I went. Despite the lay-off, I carded a +10 46! 3200 yard course. It felt so good to be back.

I hit a 9-iron, 7-iron and 5-wood fat and also duffed a total of three chip shots that went 2 feet in front of me. I also four putted the 9th hole, even after hitting my only green in regulation of the day on that last hole.

All in all, I'm very happy with my first time out on the course in over five months. I decided not to go the full 18 just to go easy on my back for the first time out. I'm a little sore, but I feel like it's slowly but surely getting stronger.

    • Day (2 May 24) - somehow I missed posting both Tues and Weds practice sessions - so the streak ends and a new one begins…. Focus today was on ball first contact using the Divot Board for reference.   Worked with 7i, 9i and GW hitting hard foam balls.  Started hap hazardly and then settled back into my pre-shot setup.  Much more consistent in the latter.
    • So, Newey is out at Red Bull. Where does he go in a year? Is Max still with RBR in 2026? Hmmmm.
    • August 2010 Woodfin Ridge 18th hole Playing in a large tournament with a slew of friends and the last day was two man best ball. The 18th, when it was bent grass, was very fast due to a steep slope on the right side. I had seen many people over the years putt off the green from above the hole. I hit a great drive and 3W to 30’ left of the hole. With everyone watching my partner hit it way too fast and never high enough and his ball rolled all the way to the bottom of the green.  I hit mine much higher and the ball came to rest about 20” above the hole. Then it slowly started trickling towards the hole for a walkoff eagle! Nobody said anything except my partner who was yelling pretty loudly. I looked at the crowd and told them it was okay to clap because it was a great putt, and they gave me a bunch of polite golf claps and brought me a beer!
    • Day 127: 5/2/24 Stack Full Speed spectrum training session 6/24. Training speed was 5 mph higher than previous high, as was e-speed. Still not as high as I have done in previous programs, but just 1 mph lower. Battling through a neck issue, and possible trigger fingers. Happy with results.
    • Day 49. Played 9 from tees a bit beyond my comfort zone and was humbled. Hit a couple good shots so will take that at least.
