Shot a 76 today even though my ball contact was struggling. I am still trying to get used to the swing changes. The highlight of my day was throwing in for eagle on number 4 from 88 yards!! My first eagle of the year.

The streak is still alive. Six days, six rounds, all under par. Although it was a messy 1-under today. Total is 20-under.

Golf is funny like that. I feel like some of my better scoring days are some of my not-so-hot ball striking days.

96 (+25). 50/46. It was at the course where I caddy, so I knew the course better than anybody else playing (we were in a tourney). Looking back, I don't think I was concentrating as hard as I should have been. I hit the ball terribly with only a few good shots. I had trouble releasing with my irons and a few times with my driver. Since I was hitting the ball absolutely terribly, I didn't expect much score-wise. However, it really shows me the importance of having a good short game and being a good putter. There were times when a simple up-and-down would be a par. Or a terrible drive would lead to a punch out with hopes of limiting the damage to a bogey. Anything to get some sort of roll started. But, it just never happened. And, I think a better short game/putter would have helped immensly. Good thing is that there's always tomorrow...and it probably won't be worse.

87 (41/46) short game was good but drives and long irons were all over the place.

They say golf is like life, but don't believe them. Golf is more complicated than that.

Shot 81 on Friday, My best round by 2 shots. 39,42 one triple bogey on an easy par 3. I seemed to be making everything inside 6 feet and gave myself quite a few chances to make birdie even though I only had one for the round.

92 on Saturday, 48/44, worst round in quite awhile. Played with a guy from work and I never shoot well when I play with him (see unsolicited advice thread). He shot a 96 which was very good for him. Haven't touched a club since. Good thing it's raining, think I need a break...

76 on Sunday at Broad Run . 40 on the front, 36 on the back.

Finally got a little something going on the back but 3 bogeys killed the effort of 3 birdies.

You know those days where you just never learn? This was one of them. Left 3 makeable eagle putts short and countless other 10-30 foot putts short of the hole. Just couldn't hit the ball.

But... on the plus side, I played the par 5's in 2 under par, and I made the most birdies (3) I've made in one full round since picking the game back up competitively at the end of last season.

    • @colin007, in terms of realistic sci-fi, its the best ever. They actually had an astrophysicist consult on the movie to be as accurate as possible with what we know about the universe.  For like dystopian, Blade Runner is probably king. Action/suspense is probably Alien/Aliens. Though Starship Troopers is fantastic. The Matrix is amazing.
    • Day 4 (August 14).  Full swing in my indoor practice room;  6-iron, off a mat, into a net.  Focus was on what I believe was my priority piece at last lesson (which, admittedly, was almost three years ago, due to absence).  I hit about a dozen balls this morning before going into the office.  (Also, errata to yesterday:  9 of the 12 coins were picked up on the second or third go around -- you can't pick up one on the first go around for that drill)
    • Watched The Gentlemen, took a little bit to get into it, but very good Guy Ritchie movie.  Collin Farrell and Hugh Grant were great. Give it a birdie.
    • Played in the Rhode Island CC Senior Member guest, my partner and I won the tournament. 2-day Stableford format, we ended with 104 points, won by 7. Points include 2 holes on each 9, where both players score count, can make up some points if you both play well on those holes.  @DaveP043has played a similar format (I played with Dann from RICC).
    • Played Wannamoisett CC on Monday.  What a neat old Donald Ross course, Par 69.  The conditions were immaculate, might be one of the best maintained courses, I've played.
