89! Broke 90 FINALLY! Feeling great about it, 2 penalties on 18 had me scared I was gonna score a 90 but made the putt that kept me in the 80's.

43/46 (2 penalties on same hole.....TWICE) I blame poor club selection!

I was glad to get back down into the low 80s.
Also missed some short putts but got the long ones.
off the tee was allright i guess.

They say golf is like life, but don't believe them. Golf is more complicated than that.

A complete and total meltdown. On the course where I shot 90 on Wednesday, I shot 107, 56/51. At various times, I shanked, topped, and dubbed the ball. I hit a variety pull hooks. I decelerated the clubhead on pitches. Over and over.

It was probably the worst round I've played in five years.

Shot 50 on the back 9 where I tripled both par 5's. I think it was partly due to fatigue since I also played 18 yesterday.

My best round of the year at my home course.

40/45=85 with a double/ double finish

Monday's 89 had a double/ double/ double finish

I think I'll just skip 17 and 18 next round.

Played yesterday and hit the ball very well overall, but putted like crap and posted an 88. Had 5 three-putts, just miserable. My stroke was a little bit off, and I also did not do a great job of reading the greens. 88 was the worst possible score I could have shot for the way I hit the ball. It is rounds like this that proves that the best way to improve your score is to improve your putting. Worked on putting for a good 2 hours today, and hopefully it shows when I play this week.

wow... i didnt think id break a hundred today... seriously...
friday i posted 8 over... today i shot 90...
front wasnt too bad and 'normally' i play much better on the back... not today...
i didnt get one par on the back... at all...
nothing was working...
driving was going straight... but none... none went over 210!
approach shots... couldnt get my distances down at all... some too short... some too long...
found sand 2x... got out both times but one was basically a shank
water water everywhere... and my balls sure wanted to take a drink...
putting just outright stunk...
id blame it on the 104 heat index but i know it was pretty much all me... my day of hacking in the sun

Trouble in the sand during two separate visits to the beach, and a 4-putt from hell.

Gotta work on the sand game, and put more time into putting.

    • Day 29: played 9. Solid +3, with obvious improvements to come in tee shots. Iron play was much better, short game very good. Might be rounding into form. Also had a solid range season after the round. Started with driver, and then went to working on my priority piece after that. Videos looking decent, although still could use improvement.
    • Each year I participate in a two person scramble.  It's flighted after the first 18.  We play 54 hikes over 3 courses.  There is still opportunity for sand bagging.
    • A fairly solid +7 round yesterday with a double/triple bogeys on 15th/17th for my two blow up holes. Still not up to full speed but there is sufficient distance to tackle a dry 6,000 yard course. Anyway, I often forget that the golf swing is sideways motion with a left side leading focus for majority of the BS and DS (for a right hander). That is the focus here dynamically active left side thigh, hip and upper torso with a low, below plane left hand to start the takeaway and a good left last stretch at P4 with hands. It is almost like my left side is shoving my right side out of the way and behind to start of the takeaway. I think if I were to get on a set of force plates now to compare against my motion a year ago (hypothetically since I didn't back then) I would show some good improvement. Hmm... I wonder who has a set that I can access..🤔😉
