99 at Celebrity Golf Club International in Tucker, GA (owned by Julius Erving and stomping ground of sports and music stars). Played from a 141 slope, so not too bad for a tough course I'd never seen before.

It was 77* and threatening rain but I went out anyway. Played a course I tried a month ago. Shot a 96, my best since coming back to the game in October. It was rewarding to be able to score a number of pars and a birdie on the card.

I also tried a new ball the Titlelist NXT Extreme, wow it performs better off the driver than my Noodle+s. But it is harder and you can feel it when you hit it. Too early to tell if they carry farther than the Noodle+ yet.

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

I shot 81 today , but pretty happy with it as i have not hit any golf balls for 2 weeks.

Condition was very windy windy ( lost about 20 ~30 yards from the tee and approach ) and i changed my approach to the green after 2 holes , hitting low punch with the longer irons.

I was pretty happy with those punch shot .

Yesterday, I played 14 holes (1 through 6, then 2 through 9) and had three birdies. "Finished" at -1.

Only had time for 9 today. Shot even, (two birdies, one double bogey).

I loving the new putter. I finally found a putter that works for me - it's so easy to line up and very, very reliable. I made two beautiful putts today. I am rolling the ball better than I ever have.

I draw a line around my ball, for putting alignment. I used to marvel at the line staying a nice straight line on the occasion that I'd roll a good putt with my old putter. Now, I can't NOT roll the line straight. No more wobbly balls!!! My scores are going to get very low next season. I can't wait.

It was "cool" playing the SC, but man - it'll be a lot cooler making more putts.

Score: 88. Temp: 22 degrees. Wind: 15-20 mph. Course Conditions: Frozen.

I'm sitting in front of the fireplace when it's 22 degrees. You have got to be one tough cookie or crazy one.

Monday I played for the first time in almost a month. Been either too cold or wet. Still pretty cool for me that day and I probably would have had a tough time breaking 90. Didn't keep score. Tuesday the weather was better and I played better. Shot 78. Yesterday weather was in low 60's and nice. Played very well(for me) and had 5 birdies and shot 73. A double hurt. But pretty happy considering not playing much this fall. Pouring rain today so course will be soggy for a few days and temps back in the low 40's. So good time to re-grip the clubs.

I hear ya. Worst round in a a couple of years yesterday for yours truly. To give you an idea, on a shortish par 5: decent drive followed by a clean 4-hybrid got me to 110 yards lying 2 and thinking about my birdie chances. Proceeded to chunk the PW 15 yds, then miss left (wtf!), chunked the chip way short and 2 putted for a double. Ridiculous.

But as a walk-on I played with an entertaining 4 handicap, ex-military and ex-pro football player (Jets) who's played golf just about everywhere (incl. Scotland, England and Ireland). He's played Pro-Am at Morgan Run, The Bridges with Phil M., Rancho Santa Fe, etc etc. Not a name-dropper as he may sound here, just a real sportsman and fun to play with. Big guy, about 280 yd average drive (with 4 fused vertabrae ....) and always going for par 5's in two. His putting was the only weak part of his game.

O well, I did get 4 pars (2 shortish birdie putts missed) but man those doubles ...... I must have annoyed the golfing G**s or something.

Cold, windy, tight back. Managed 79 (par 72) without a single birdie. I hate cold weather. Wed. is supposed to be back in the 60s. Maybe my back will loosen up then. :(

    • Day 566, May 21, 2024 Six-iron swings in the back yard. Felt good. It's hot here, though.
    • Yep. It’s easy to get distracted during the day and hardly drink any water. Our bodies do not have a good systems to warn us early enough. Some tips I like. Drink 16+ ounces of water when you wake up. The body can lose 1-2 lbs of water weight overnight. You are already in the red. If you know you are going to work out, or even walking 9 holes of golf. Drink water before hand and during the exertion. I was curious once, I did a 40 ish minute workout and I lost about 5 lbs of water weight. That is 80 ounces of water I need to replenish. Now I try to drink 24-36 ounces beforehand.  Aim for half an ounce of fluid, per pound of bodyweight, per day. Note, this is baseline not taking into account exercise or strenuous activity. Also, if you eat non processed foods, you can get a good amount through diet. If you eat processed foods, you need to drink more during the day.
    • Anyone in the group play tennis and interested in playing some tennis this weekend while we are away on recreation?  @StuM I messaged you about hotel accommodations please let me know what you can do.
    • That's kind of what I thought.  The ap maybe fine, but Shotscope is so inexpensive and works really well. I'm surprised more golfers don't use it.
    • Me too. I tend to drink no less than 64 oz in the winter time. In the summer at least twice that.  I'm prone to cramping and cramping sucks. So, I drink plenty of water. BTW - I've become increasingly prone to cramping as I've aged. Aging sucks also.    Huh?  I'd love to know where you got this information. Did you ask your dog?  I'm not sure if I like or dislike the taste of water. It's water. It's one of the things that makes life on Earth possible.
