Two Sets of Old Equipment

I recently found myself with two golf sets that that I'd like to sell, and I'm trying to figure an appropriate amount.  Hopefully some of you can help.

Here's what I've got:

#1:

Arnold Palmer bag, Big Bertha Steelhead Plus #3 and #5, Taylormade R5 driver, Callaway titanium irons P, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, Texan Classics Power cavity S, Pure Spin Diamond face scoring wedge, Confidence golf chipper, Field and Associates clip-on watch (dead battery)

#2

Pro Macgregor Leather Bag (likely vintage), Wilson gear effect irons P, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, Wilson K-28 Aqua tite strata bloc laminated woods 1 and 3

5 headcovers, multiple packs of golf balls and gloves. Everything is in good condition.

Probably little to nothing. No one would really want to buy such old clubs. I might say the Macgregor Leather Bag could be worth something if it's in good shape.

Scour EBay, you can see completed listings and get a good sense of what items are going for. In my experience, golf equipment doesn't have much resale value. I have no idea how old those clubs are but 2 year old drivers seem to go for about $100 (at most) and a used set of last year's irons can typically be had for $400 or less.

I recently bought a Steelhead plus 3 wood to play, it cost $5, I put a new shaft in it and the thing is awesome.   Honestly #1 sounds like a great set.  Most of the rules affecting equipment were made in the late 90's. As far as price though,  ebay will be your best bet.

the play it again sports in my area will give you as trade in value half of what they think they can sell them for. i saw a callaway 3w and 5w priced to sale at $20 a piece so you would get $20 for both clubs. you can make more on ebay. split up the bag if you do.

Being on an extremely tight budget, I look for these sort of clubs now and then. I'd say you are probably between $60-$120 per set if its in good condition. That, of course, can very a little bit from one market to the next. It also depends a bit on how long you want to wait for a buyer. You could off load the clubs at a second hand store today if you are willing to take a lot less.

Put them on Craigslist with some good pictures.  They may sell.

 

I'd donate them though.  They could make a great starter set.  Goodwill will take them.
