I like playing golf. It's usually people I don't like. Next year's handicap may be kept on Game Golf since a lot of the time I'd rather not deal with people.

Let me know next time you are out there and I will make sure to go out back and heckle you on my hole.

You live on one of the holes?  GolfNow has some good deals out there from time to time.  Next time I find one I'll ping you here and we can play.

Xmas depression. I hate winter and cold weather. I need to hit the lotto so I can afford to move someplace warm.

Yes I do, on back nine very close to one of the greens.  I am not sure you would want to play with me yet.  That guy who is constantly looking near the trees for his ball, sometimes needs 6 or more swings (not including penalty strokes) to put it on the green, yeah, that is me.

If you have the patience for that though, I'm game.  :)

I feel for you.  I escaped the great white north (western NY) in 1979 right after the 2 worst winters in history.  I applied to the Univ of Florida just to escape the cold.  Never visited the campus, but I thought it might be warmer than Rensselaer Poly Tech (Albany NY).

Golf is a time for having fun.  We've all been at the stage where it took a few balls to make the green.  I've been scraping the ball around a while longer than you is all.  I may be an old fart, but I can keep up.  I allow rampant cheating. :-)

I'm planning on playing twilight (2pm) at Mangrove Bay in St Pete on Wednesday.  I'm going to get there early (around 1pm) to test my new 4 irons and putters.  I'm in the process of building some new Pinhawk irons and I'm doing some different shaft tips to see if I can increase my iron height.  If you're interested, it is only $18 to walk.  It might be a couple more bucks because it is around this time they increase their green fees for winter season.  Not sure though.  Still a deal.

Plus, I just put a new Orange and Blue grip on my putter.  I also bent the hosel on another putter to make it more upright.  Hoping it makes a difference.

I'm heading to Gainesville this afternoon to watch a BBall game.  Against Jax.  Used to be a season's ticket holder but the 300 mile round trip got a little old after a while.

See bolded above:  If that is the case we should be okay, actually it's not cheating as much as it is being completly clueless in regards to some of the rules.  I assure you it will be me having an issue keeping up.  Ha-ha.

I am working tomorrow but greatly appreciate the invite.  PM me and lets set something up in the future and hit some balls.  Good luck!

Will do.

As for the cheating, as long as it's not for score, it's about improving your game.  Have fun with it.  If no one is pushing, throw down an extra ball.  Whatever.  That's why I very rarely get mad about a poor shot.  Every swing is about improving.  We all need that.

    • A sand trap is not supposed to have 3 inches of water in it. To me that’s temporary, casual water. Just like if your ball lands in a deep rain puddle in the middle of the fairway. I would have gladly hit out of any spot in that bunker. I understand that it’s a different rule. I just think it’s a dumb rule. You are penalized because it rained.  Here’s what I think is the dumbest rule in golf, and all sports for that matter - professionals playing for millions of dollars in a tournament have to carry around a little pencil and scorecard to keep their score and sign it, when there are big scoreboards all over the course and on tv. Can you imagine the Knicks losing because they didn’t count their score correctly? Like I said, I love the game, but it’s time to move into the 21st century already.
    • Sorry to lose you, thx for letting us know
    • I have to bow out for the weekend. I was only in for Saturday as it was
    • Could course committee have an MLR option to declare this bunker GUR?
    • Sorry, I will disagree. You got a penalty because you hit it somewhere and didn't want to play it from there. Bunkers are not the general area. If you had hit it into temporary water in the general area, you'd be entitled to relief. You hit it into a hazard, a bunker. Why should you get free relief when you hit it into a bunker? If someone else hit it into a different part of the bunker, without water, they'd not get a drop for free out of the bunker. Heck, it'd cost them two strokes if they didn't have an ACC and wanted to drop it out of the bunker.
