More cold and snow coming here in Ohio, so had to move my practice to the basement. Still working on the focus of right elbow and head down. I took notice o something intersting.... It appears that the right elbow bent was easier if I focused on keeping the hands moving forward and keeping them ahead of the shaft up through follow through, something my Evolvr coach had mentioned a few months ago. More practice on this tomorrow indoors, since the prediction is for more snow tomorrow.

Also did a solid hour of putting practice in the living room... starting to get a little more confident with my grip and stroke. Looking forward to getting I out on the actual green.

Started sessions in local fitness center. Doing yoga routine from Karen Roberts, par level, backswing drill with weighted club using mirrors in center and also started medicine ball routine as mentioned in LSW.

Under construction, signature and game.

Another 20 mins in the net, 6 iron, full swing practice. Was mostly conscious of Key #2; getting my weight forward at impact, which led to a more "complete" finish position. When I made further swings while holding this finish position in mind, the results were very encouraging.

Big snows moving in today so practice with 7-iron in the basement. Recieved a new analysis from my Evolvr coach, so I spent some time reviewing it a couple times over. Good news is that my right elbow thing is better. New focus area is now the hip turn through the follow through and rotating through the swing. So, spent some time this afternoon working on that, making sure I don't loose the progress I've made with the right elbow. I hope to get some more time in with the putter later on tonight. I feel as if progress is moving forward. Good time to knock off some serious practice time when the snows are covering the courses.

In HK for a couple nights looking for a simulator that you can just pay and play...

Hitting the fitness center, and continuing back swing drills.

Yoga routine, backswing drill and medicine ball routine. Not hitting any balls, just visits to fitness center. Thinking I will visit SIM coming week and hit balls indoors.

Under construction, signature and game.

Spent 60 minutes at the range today. Driver, 3w, and 5w got a work out. Every shot went fine as long as I didn't try to over swing.

30 mins in the net, full swing practice. Still focusing on allowing the right elbow to bend early during the take away, as that seems to be key for me to correctly sequence the rest of the back swing.

Lots of core work today at the gym with one set of mirror work. Worked on back swing to A4, hold, then to A6, hold, then to A8 and hold.

Good practice day today.... started off the day with a 2.5 mile run and worked on the 7-iron in the basement. Trying to break up the longer practice session with some shorter ones. New focus area is now the hip and shoulder turn through impact. So, did a few hours in the garage this afternoon using the 8-iron and hybrid (switching off between the two).

This is a new thing for me... so taking Erik's recommendation to slow it down. Made up some really slow drills with the 8-iron using 1/2 swing and 1/2 speed to exaggerate the hip turn through impact and follow through.

I took a bunch of video and viewed my swing over and over trying to make adjustments. I posted one of the videos in the MySwings section (below). So, any recommendation, insights or comments are always appreciated.

Found one, going there in place of a heavy dinner! Did some hip turn and spine angle drills in preparation for a 2.5 hour 18 hole sim round.

Played a simulated Mission Hills Norman course, shot 125. My short game was awful in a simulator?!? :-P

251.2 yard drives, it was a regular shafted XHot 2. So, I don't hit it that well, with about 3800 rpm backspin on average. I topped a few and adjusted the tee height accordingly. Got 3 OB. Made all the forced carries from the blue tees. Hit the SW too far most of the time, I'm so used to having a LW.

Putting was totally awkward, and the golf shoes were too tight. I wore 1.5 sizes smaller than usual. My toes are still angry with me for subjecting them to wrapped foot torture.

The simulator tilted for different lie angles. I drove 1 ball into some trees and it bounced off the tree onto the fairway. It was amazing simulation technology. Very accurate.

Back in barn hitting into net. Backswing drill, pivot drill and hitting each club through series of different swings. Only few days under my belt doing medicine ball routine but it already feels less strain in getting into top of backswing.

Under construction, signature and game.

Another 30 mins in the net, still concentrating on the right elbow folding early during the take away, as well as extending the right wrist more. Results are somewhat encouraging.

Did a 3-mile run this morning to start the day, followed by a weight and kettlebell workout and a 10-round boxing session on the heavy bag. Worked on the 8-iron....     1/2 and 3/4 swing in the backyard focusing on hip and shoulder turn and follow through. That was a bit abbreviated since it isn't much fun golfing in the snow. So, picked up more 1/2 swing practice indoors along with some work on the putting stroke and grip.

I am loving my new putting grip.... Not sure if it's any good.... Played around with different things and kind of dug this one out of the ground. If there would be a name for it, it might be called... the symmetrical quadruple interlocking grip (hehe). Anyway, it appears to provide a solid feel as if my arm is an extension of the club, but more work is needed. The I can already tell that the bead and speed part of putting has improved.

Doing the chipping drill. Brushing the club.

Nearly 1/3 of my strokes on the sim yesterday were getting on the green within 20 yards of the pin.

Spent some time today swinging a wedge back to horizontal toe up,  then forward to horizontal toe up.  Just working on the bottom part of my swing, with 30-40 reps.

Sometimes at the range I will do this drill with a ball. Today, since I did not have the room, I did it without a ball.

    • Day  3 (4 May 24) - Easy pitch day with 9i in the backyard.  Worked on staying smooth thru impact, keeping shots to 20yds or less.
    • From what I’ve read, it was in the manufacturing process and how the covers were nicking pretty easy.  He has had to resource his factory as the one used earlier is now a TM owned facility.  Initial reports seem to indicate the redesign is going to be a winner…
    • Day 129: 5/4/24 Stack training but could not certify my warmup speed. Dealing with a pulled neck muscle. Chips and pitches at a local course for about 15 minutes.
    • Typically less than 50. I find this can be affected by the "CART" signs on a given course. I don't like taking my rangefinder out of the cart and carrying it around to the green. I am very fearful I will leave it somewhere.
    • First ever holed out greenside bunker shot! It's crazy it took this long to finally get one during a round, but the cold streak is officially over. Hole 6 on the Palmer Course at PGAN. I hit my driver like 225 into a really stiff wind, then worm burned a hybrid into the bunker. I was about I dunno, 40-45 feet away. Birdie! Let's go! The red Xs the approximate location of each shot.  Really fun!!
