Looks like a standing touch of about 10'3".  That's some athleticism.

Oh ok, then that makes sense. I'm 6'4" and I could do that when I was still playing ball.

Ur kidding, yes?  That's about a 26" standing vert.  I know quite a few 6'4 or even 6'6" dudes that cannot do that.

no not at all.  i stopped playing ball when i was about 24 due to an eye condition, but a standing dunk was no big deal.  you should have seen some of the guys i played with, their verts put me to shame.

Impressive springs.  I don't think even Dirk can do that anymore and he's 7' (kidding a little).

Workin on getting my kid's hops up for volleyball.  She's 6'2" with an approach touch of 9'8".  Need to get that over 10'.  Improved 4" in the past year and only a sophmore so I'm confident she'll get there but to a large degree, I think that ability is innate.

thanks!  i think i got mine just from use use use.  i played 3-4 times a week pretty much from 14 -22.

theres nobody in my school that has that kind of leap.  we have a 6-2 girl but im guessing her vertical is less than a foot. seriously.  big girl, thick, and i just dont think shes coordinated or strong enough to really get out of a "hop".

do you do plyo work with your daughter? jumping rope and stationary bike help as well.

Actually, she is going to start plyometrics soon.  Her asst club coach happens to be the strength and conditioning coach for the whole club so we lucked out a little.  He talked about plyo but I don't know much about it.  Will be looking into it.
