There’s No One Face of Golf Right Now. No One Age, Either [NYT]

The Big Everyone! The NYTimes, as is its wont, explains to us the obvious.

Twice in his past three starts, McIlroy, 26, has lost after holding at least a share of the lead during the final round. Two weeks ago at Riviera Country Club, he closed with a 75. He carded a 74 on Sunday.

It would be unwise to read too much into McIlroy’s final-round fades. On a hard course like Augusta, with his fifth major — and a career Grand Slam — in his sights, McIlroy will manage his focus and his game much better. The major-hunting McIlroy already has Georgia on his mind.

“I feel like my game is in good shape,” he said. “I just need to figure out what I’m doing in these final rounds and try to rectify it.”

McIlroy will figure it out. He will be in the mix at Augusta, but it is looking as if he will have a lot of company.

the face will have to be either Speith, McIlroy or Day. in that order. Speith cause hes Murican, McIlroy because hes just a freak and still has personality, and Day last because of his accent but hes the toughest of them all.  itll never be Dustin because hes dumber than a bag of hammers.

From a business perspective I imagine having a face is great , tiger years. I much prefer having a grab bag of winners, I get bored with one dominant player
