I am going to be purchasing some new golf shoes soon and was wondering...a) which ones are the most comfortable & b) spikes, spike less & plain athletic shoes.  Is one that much better than the other.

Thanks

I play a course with some pretty steep slopes, and I've found that the spikeless shoes will lose traction more often than spiked shoes, especially if the grass is a little wet, so my preference is for spiked shoes  In addition, I've generally bought pretty high-quality shoes, and I've had spikeless shoes wear out the nubbies on the bottom while the uppers are still in pretty decent shape, so I prefer replaceable spikes.

I think the spikeless shoes, in general, are lighter and more comfortable than the shoes with replaceable spikes.  I don't see a big difference in the stability while swinging. I do recommend that whichever way you decide, you buy a shoe that's guaranteed waterproof.

This. To quote a review I read on this site about a year or so ago about True's, "it's like walking on a cloud of titties."  I laughed at the time until I put my first pair on and just said "oooooohhhhhhhh...".

Everyone's preferences will differ but I converted to spikeless about two years ago. I joined a club and walk more often than not (wet or dry, morning or afternoon).  I've noticed very very few instances where I didn't have more than enough traction (which was my biggest fear). My True's are my go-to with Ecco Biom's in the rotation as well.  Thinking about trying a pair of Adidas Adicross soon.  In my opinion, True's are hard to beat - especially as they get more stylish looking. Some of the earlier versions are butt-ass ugly (mine look like clown shoes with the wide toe box) but I don't give a $hit because they're the most comfortable thing I've ever had on my feet.

I just bought a pair of Adidias slip on spikeless golf shoes just to wear. I have no intention of ever playing golf in them LOL. The spikeless shoes are very comfortable. When I'm on the course though, I have to have spikes.

I have 2 sets of spikeless, some Nike and a pair of True also. Both are equally comfortable to me, but the Nike are lighter. Honestly though, I've never had a pair of uncomfortable golf shoes, I just went spikeless because I had a tendency to lose spikes too frequently and it annoyed me.
