Hello all,

I am new to the forum so I am apologizing up front if this question is not in the correct area or if it has been asked/replied to before.

I have been using Aeroburner Soft golf balls for about a year now and absolutely love the ball and most importantly how I have been scoring with them.  I have learned that Taylor Made is discontinuing the ball and was wondering if anyone on the forum knows of a ball that is similar to these that is made by another brand?  I have asked TM but have not received a response yet.  Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the forum. It is difficult for us to know what this ball feels like to you. What do you like most about the ball? Short game, approach shots, driver? That would help us with a recommendation.

Thanks for the response.  Best way for me to describe it is that I love the way the ball comes off of the driver and my drives have never been straighter. There is very little spin on the ball with the approach shots and I have a nice touch around the greens with my chip shots.   Was just wondering if anyone else was using the ball and if they found another ball with similar specs.  Thanks again for your help.

You could probably keep picking up several dozen of these golf balls through different online stores. You could build up a pretty decent supply that way. Other than that have you looked at the wilson duo?

That stinks, I use AeroBurner Pro, great ball.

Callaway Chrome Soft is a good alternative.

I got a dozen Chrome Soft free.... hate them.  I don't know what it is, but they are on average 10 yards shorter with my irons than the TM Project (a).

I still think that the best ball made in recent years was the TM Penta.  I still have a few left that I bought from a clearance display last year at Golfsmith.  When they are gone, I'll mourn.

I've settled on the Project {a} ball as well. I tried out the chrome soft and the duo urethane but neither performed as well as the {a} did for me. I wish I could find something in the $20-25 range instead of $34, but I'm getting a bit better about not losing as many as I used to so I can deal with it. My favorite previously was the hex chrome + but the shop ran out of those at the end of last year.

Last year's TM Tour Preferred are available through Amazon for $26 and change.   I may pick up a few of them.

I'll have to check those out, depending to shipping may be worth a shot. Thanks for the heads up.

I haven't tried the Wilson Duo but I have heard it is a very popular ball.  I bought 4 dozen of the Aeroburner's Soft's from Modell's a few weeks ago so that should hold me off for a time.  I spoke to the Pro at Dick's he told me that Taylor Made is notorious for discontinuing a model and he refuses to use them.  Nike & Callaway apparently also do the same.  Seems to me that the Titleist is the only brand that sticks with the same models, and maybe Bridgestone?

I have also tried and like the TM Project A but they are a little more in price than I would like to spend.

I use Vice and I will never use another ball again. Amazing ball for the money. Check them out, not sure if they compare to your Aeroburners.

I am by no means a golf ball expert, but I wonder how much of it is the marketing strategy differences between the companies. Titleist stays with the name ProV1 (and others like the NXT line) even as they tell us how they change/improve the ball. Makes sense to me--why give up on name recognition when you have excellent sales, even when the ball is different?

But if similar changes were made in the ball of another company, I suspect they would more quickly abandon their previous name and try something different--see if it sticks. (Remember rocketballz?)
