So yesterday I was at the golf shop getting my ball supply. While looking around and just shaking a few putters in the used putter rack I picked up a 'left' handed putter for kicks and tried to putt with a traditional right handed grip (traditional right hand low like for example, TW's).

It felt surprisingly 'normal' to hit putts in the opposite direction - right side if looking down on the ball with right hand low. Now I am 'next level' curious how much better it would be if at all. I am not a terrible putter but I would say below average and yip my share of 3 footers. I wonder if it might be better option than staying right handed using left hand low (all the rage these days) which definitely seems less appealing.

Anybody tried? Success? Meh?

This sort of thing illustrates how easy putting really is. The fact that you can switch, temporarily, to a left-handed putter and be good at it right away backs that up.

At any rate I often putt against people lefty indoors at Golf Evolution. I do okay, and often win.

I'd investigate it further, but really, I'd do what I always recommend, first: get fit for an Edel. If you want to do it sometime if you come up north to visit us, I won't charge you for the fitting at all.

A few years ago I switched to lefty for a few months. I was finding that my aim was as good as putting righty, but my speed was a bit off. I think if I practiced it more (and got fit for a putter) I could be just as good as I am righty (which isn't saying much, but still).

I almost always play mini golf lefty because I'm usually playing with non-golfers. Makes them think they have a chance. :-P

A buddy of mine uses a Titleist Bullseye putter and often switches between left and right handed when putting, depending on which side is working better for him.
