@Club Rat Is in MO.

I live in Northwest Arkansas. Not sure what all is up near Jefferson City.

I've never played in Jeff City area and not really familiar with any courses around there.

It's a short drive to the Lake of the Ozark which has many numerous great courses.

I recall seeing a few courses north of JC, but haven't played them either. One I know is a links course.

Sorry I can not be more help, we have traveled to the lake for golf through the years.

Porta-Cima is one of the best tracks in Mo, but it is a private club.

I've played the course at Mizzou (Columbia) once and enjoyed it. I'd play again if I had the chance to get up there.

Jefferson City has Jefferson City CC , a private club, as the premiere course in the area. Must know someone to play a round.

Oak Hills Golf Center is located on Ellis Blvd. at south end of town. Decent municipal course - several holes rebuilt recently - and a driving range.

Turkey Creek Golf Center  is located just north of the river. It's a par 3 layout with an excellent practice range. A second nine is being added that is handi-capable (usable by the physically impaired).

Eagle Knoll GC  - located between Jeff City and Columbia in Hartsburg - is one of the best semi-private courses in Missouri. Got super reviews from Golf Digest when it opened. The best work of regionally famous architect Gary Kern.

Railwood Golf Club is located in nearby Holt's Summit. Originally an 18-hole layout, it has been cut back to 9 due to financial problems. A decent course with very interesting holes, what's left of it.

Nearby...

  • Columbia, MO has two private and four public courses, including AL Gustin at University of Missouri.
  • Fulton has Fulton CC - a 9-hole layout - and Tanglewood GC (a course that position players can exploit).
  • Lake of the Ozarks region 50 miles to south has a dozen + golf courses.

Have fun! And, get into the dynamic pricing network to save $$ on greens fees.

    • Hi everyone, I'm looking to improve my driving distance. I’ve been playing golf for a few years now, and while my accuracy has gotten better, I’m still struggling to get the distance I want off the tee. I play regularly with both men and women, so any advice that applies to both would be fantastic. For some context, I’ve tried adjusting my stance and swing, but I feel like I might be missing some key golf techniques or drills. Has anyone here successfully increased their driving distance? What specific tips or changes worked for you? Whether it's about grip, posture, swing mechanics, or even mental approach, I’m open to all suggestions! Looking forward to hearing your experiences and advice! Thanks!

    • I don't know… The TaylorMade Tiger Woods grinds were decent. I like narrow soles with a lot of bounce (lots of camber) and good heel/toe relief.
