I think I asked this before, but I remembered the answers fuzzily. I think Tuesday, Wednesday are better. Thinking of going to a practice round. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday. Any suggestions as to which day would be better? Looking to get a glimpse of the big name players this time. Day, McIlroy, Fowler, Matsuyama, Stenson, Rose, Scott, Watson, Mickelson. Doesn't matter if I see them on the range or on the course, as long as I see them swing. Thanks in advance.

I think Tuesday is the best day. Many players take it easy on Wednesday. Monday some players are ramping up still.

The weather can change all of that, though.

I've seen the same thing.  On Monday, there are generally fewer players there.  Tuesday seems to be the biggest prep day, and Wednesday is more of a "final tune-up" day.  Watching on the range can be fun, but I found it more interesting to watch how they prepare on the course.  They'll try to anticipate pin positions, and putt and/or chip to each one they anticipate.  They'll often try various recovery options, trying to figure out what "miss" might be most playable, and what places to avoid at all cost.

The other replies agree with my own experience at Torrey in 2008.  We went to all three days, but Tuesday was the best by far for seeing top players.

But then again, what the hell do I know?
