Quarterfinals preview - amateur golf looks to be fiercely competitive, amateur is such a misnomer.

Thanks for the link -- that was a great read.

Here's a ~5min Periscope of the beginning of the final match, fyi, video will disappear in a day. Must be warm weather, both are wearing shorts.

That was a good read!  Its amazing how much different tournament golf is with the different pressures your body feels and you having to deal with them...if there is someone on here that hasn't experienced actual tournament golf, I suggest trying it out because its a blast!

Great read. One good take away from the write up is that no matter what level you are playing, a double bogey is just another shot away at any given time. While having full presence of mind for every shot is absolutely required, it is easier than done no matter how confident you are. Hindsight and experience are the best teachers.

A good perspective for us weekend hacks who search high and low, far and wide of ways to avoid blow up holes.

I hope the fellow makes it to at least match play next year.

We never got brand new ProV's on range at the mid ams ive qualified for... Sounds like i qualified for the wrong ones..lol

The article illustrates very well how much pressures of tournament golf impacts your mental game as much as physical. Its happened to me to. You get lost in kind of this haze and end up doing some really boneheaded things sometimes. Like rush yourself, or hit clubs you shouldn't hit, or read 5 feet of break in a strait putt. But experience is the cure for those things. I have enough experience now that when i don't do well in a tournament, its just because i sucked ass and didn't hit shots, not because i made mental errors.
