Well done by all three in the playoff.   And for Coke and Southern to NOT advertise during the playoff.   Lastly, is there a way to instantly electrocute bush league spectators who yell "get in the hole" on every shot?

It's annoying to many of us, but golf needs to be careful about alienating fans.  Part of what makes an event fun is fan participation, so if someone pays the entrance fee, eats and drinks all day there,  supporting the event vendors, I'll tolerate their stupid attempts to get attention.

How about the stupid, drunken, redneck who screams "PAULINA!" when DJ is beginning to set up for a shot? I like looking at her as much as the next guy, but I'd never do that.

But, to get back to the tournament,,,,WHAT A FINISH!!! Couldn't ask for a better wrap up to the Tour season than this! 3 way tie at the end of regulation, with everybody just battling their guts out. Never mind Rory's putting, how about some of the recovery shots he hit in the playoff?

Bring on the Ryder Cup!

What a way to finish it by Rory. The holeout on 16 put him in a position to take it all, and he didn't waste that opportunity.

It was fun to watch, Rory slowly moving up the leaderboard and with Chappell becoming a bit nervy on the final holes, Rory made it into a playoff. Rory didn't take full advantage of his shots on the par 5, and on the 15th I thought he had lost it. But great putts on the 15th and 16th to win in. What a fantastic golfer to watch, and he can smash the ball out there, almost hit his drive it in the lake on 18.

The finish leaves us all with a great cliff hanger for next season.  I wonder what the Vegas odds are for who dominates next season; DJ, Spieth, Rory, Day or is there a dark horse ready to challenge the chosen ones for top honors.

Safe to say firing his putting coach was the right thing to do, probably should of done it 6 months earlier.

Look at the dates on his wins.  It looks like when he goes on to win a tourney he usually follows it up with one or two more shortly after.  Interesting....

They couldn't have scripted the finish any better, it was fantastic to watch.

I guess so:hmm:.  Here's my DVR Experience.  I'm up until Midnight watching the feed AND - it ends right after Ryan Moore chips his 3rd shot way past the hole on the 4 playoff hole.:pound::mad:

REALLY?  I don't know if I blame Golf Channel, or DISH for that one.  I guess Ryan made the putt coming back but Rory made the putt - wouldn't that have been a great thing to watch?....sigh

I was rooting for Rory the whole time - I bet he'd love to have the first playoff hole eagle putt back though to finish faster and with an exclamation point.

This was better - exciting finish, eagle to get in position - 3 way tie - 4 playoff holes (as far as I know), and still having to sink the harder putt because the other guy sank a sweet one after a missed chip....

and yes - electrocute the shouters, enough.  I don't care if that type of spectator is 'alienated'.  The ass yelling "Paulina" is the worst yet.  Seriously?  that was less than no class

Bill -

Runs of form? Either even more superior ballstriking or his putter getting hot to take advantage of his awesome long game. Should be an interesting event next week!

Doesn't make golf look good on TV IMO either. Are most people more or less likely to attend an event expecting they'll run into characters like that from watching broadcasts?

    • Day 17 - Indoors practice. Some small setup changes and then working on hands path.
    • Yeah, negative PCC days are more likely to be counted in the best 8, but the PCC decreases the downward impact of these scores, as it increases your posted differential.  As for the conditions, it really is funny how the scores posted don't always reflect what seem like tough conditions.   Its clear that you thrive in difficult conditions.
    • I guess someone decided to do more work for little benefit then.  I might be the lucky one then. I have a +3 and a +1 on my counted scores.
    • I've only seen one positive PCC since it began, a +3 during a tournament on a tough, firm course with the wind blowing at least 30 mph. A scratch golfer got so frustrated he pulled out after 9. Sadly, the +3 did nothing for me as I was a good 10-12 strokes above the score counting. Currently 3 of my last 7 scores have a negative PCC. Of course, all 3 of those are in my best eight. I'm puzzled, as the wind was blowing pretty good on at least two of those rounds.
    • It changed to the best 8 of the last 20, in the 2020 changes.  When I attended a Handicapping Workshop in 2020, we were told that they anticipated that the PCC would apply in about 10% of the rounds.  That's about what I see now, maybe slightly more often since the algorithm was tweaked not long ago.  And remember, the PCC will adjust MOST of the scores on a given day towards the mean.  With a positive PCC (more high scores), most players scores wouldn't be in the best 8/20 even with the PCC, so the impact is nothing, although the few players who had a good day will see the impact on their HI increased.   I believe it will be very rare that a player has even two scores in their best 8 with any kind of PCC.
