I just moved from Dayton. Several other guys from Dayton here. @Jeremie Boop @saevel25 @mcanadiens

Very nice. Got my first teaching gig down here last year. Will probably move back North where I grew up after this school year.

Actually, I don't live in Dayton, I live in Lima but have driven down to Dayton a lot to golf with Shane and William. Welcome to the community, hope you find it worth sticking around.

Hello @apc2210. Welcome to TST.

Where have you been playing? I mainly play Kittyhawk, Community and Miami Shores.

I haven't played as much as a would like but the public courses I have played are Pipestone, Yankee, Madden, and Mound. When I was still in college I worked at Moraine, so I am still able to get on there from time to time and play. Also have played NCR once.

I'm a Dayton card holder, so I'm familiar with Madden. Best city course from a conditions standpoint. Some of the staff could use some manners.

When I first started five years ago, my buddy tortured me with Pipestone and Yankee. I wasn't really ready for those courses at that point. Sort of wonder how I'd do now that I've got some experience under my belt.

I think I've heard that Yankee is a nice course. Wouldn't mind playing that some time. Haven't looked at the drive time to get there though.

Well ... it wouldn't be any worse than the trek you took to get to Sugar Valley that one Sunday. Both are south of Dayton, but fairly straight off I-75. Both are also on the pricier side of where I like as well.

I checked, it is about 1 1/2 hour drive so not that bad. Price wise I'm not too worried about it because if the course is in good shape then it's worth the price.

We kind of hi-jacked @apc2210's thread here. We should take it to the Dayton thread.

@apc2210, if you are interested in showing us hackers how to play golf, maybe we could give Yankee a run one of these days.

Well, it was a dual purpose response, since he has played there I thought it may a way for us to meet up for a round. However, that's a fair enough idea to move it to the Dayton thread.

This is a long shot, but have any of you played Big Bend course in Uhrichsville, Ohio (Tuscarawas County)?. Assuming its still there from my early childhood. I remember it backed up to a cemetery. I was in elementary school at the time. We used to fly box kites there.

    • I haven't heard much of anything about it. Faux leather, sure. Biodegradable leather? No. No idea. You're a bit too new, still, to post links.
    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
