GAME GOLF Improvements: Your ideas?

So starting this topic, as there quite a few GG users here. Im also not sure how known it is, but GG does have a forum where people can suggest new ideas and vote on them.

Based from that same forum and hearing from UK users/would-be users, is that Stableford scoring does not exist yet. Since GG keeps strokes gained data, I wonder if they can simply not allow games under Stableford to be included in that data pool since its possible to not finish a hole in the format. Can you do strokes gained in relation to stableford scoring ? "That approach gained me 1 point vs 1 stroke?"

Another idea was for some way to identify when you attempted a 1/2 or full wedge shot, and display that in club performance. Would love to see my variance on those attempted shots in data points. The unit wouldnt do it so it would have to rely on you being able to edit the shot as a 1/2 PW attempt in the round review maybe. It would also rely on you remembering your intent on the shot if it wasnt obvious by the yardage.

I've been on the fence about buying it.   One minute, I'm all for it, the next I have reservations about the partial shots you mentioned and putting issues.   An earlier thread was discussed about strokes gained in putting, not very accurate.    I'd like to see these two items fixed.    I'm still a maybe.

If you aren't sure, you can try the app on a smartphone for a round or two. It certainly is not as convenient as tapping the club to your belt, but it will give you a feel for using it.

Maybe there could be a protocol with the 'tap' that distinguishes special shots. Maybe a button to differentiate the tap when it's not a full shot with the club (like recovery, chip, or partial wedges). Then the SG and distances data could be better filtered from the full shots and their associated errors?

The putting is being fixed. I've seen the new data - it's significantly better.

The partial shots thing is a non-issue.

I hit more partial shots than anyone I know, and yet here's how my GG 7-iron appears:

It's not like it's just showing an average. It does some "smart" stuff to figure out how far you hit your club.

Now, if you almost NEVER hit your pitching wedge full, as I don't, it'll say you hit your PW 112 yards, like mine does. But it's my 125-yard club. I just almost never hit it from 125… I'm more likely to choose a 9I… which really goes about 136. Which GG has at 133.

If you know how far your clubs go, a few recovery shots and things like that won't matter. GG also considers "short game" as inside 100 yards, regardless of the club used.

There's no need to "filter" that sort of stuff out. The algorithms are pretty easy. If you normally hit your 7-iron 150 yards, and you hit one 50, you either mis-hit it or you were punching out. You can then look at your stats for various yardages, filtering by range, regardless (again) of the clubs you used.

Plus the tapping is just getting an NFC tag close enough to sense it. There's no actual "tap" required.

I'm very much against anything that adds unnecessary complexity to the process of "tap and hit" or making the editing process take longer than necessary.

I'm a GG classic user.

They are already working on fixing the database putting issue which is my #1 request for improving GG.

I'd like them to get rid of the "Detected Shot" feature.  I have many erroneous detected shots but very, very few detected shots that were actually shots.
