One must consider the "hole to beer" ratio with hefty adjustor applied.

H = number of holes completed
B = number of beers consumed (12 oz. std = 1 beer) *
W = your body weight, after breakfast
Ag = Adjustor gender for average weight of US                       adults (male = 180 lbs; female = 140 lbs)

* NOTE: Golf industry has standards for beer units, but not for shaft flex.
----------------------------------------
the (W - Ag) / A is an adjustment factor for how much heft you have to help you dissipate the ill effects of alcohol.

A male who weighs 190 lbs. will process alcohol more quickly than someone who only weighs 170 lbs.

--------------------------------------

Our Initial Performance Zones...

H/B + (W - Ag) / Ag  > 4 ... you're in good shape

H/B + (W - Ag) / Ag < 1 ... I hope you brought a dozen balls

> 1 but 4 < ... we don't know, this is exploratory research.

-------------------------------------

I agree with all of this. As I said earlier, everyone knows beer is extremely good for you, and what you have proved is that it is even better if your fat. In Britain we will shortly be able to get beer on the NHS, as it is now considered preventative medicine

I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who said, "Beer is proof that God loves us, and wants us to be happy!"

Occasionally I enjoy a beer while playing. I'm not one of those guys who can pound a 12 pack on the front, buy another 12 pack, and then pound that on the back! They'd have to tie me to the cart to get me home! I have noticed that, several times, after shooting for crap on the front I'll buy a couple of beers to be consumed on the back, and end up shooting a much better score!

You never know, dapper, you might be like a guy I used to play in a league with. His name was Hugh, and we called him "Baby Huey" since he resembled that cartoon character. Just a great big, corpulent guy! On field days he'd go out with his group and play his usual "scrape it around" golf. He wasn't very good!

Then, we'd adjourn to the pavilion where steaks were put on the grill and drinks would flow! After dinner, a 9 hole scramble would be arranged and teams were selected. By this time Baby Huey was "in his cups" as they say, but he'd go and play lights out!

If you think this is an anomaly, in this same league, I played quite a few rounds with a guy who had been put on "anti-anxiety" meds. He would just giggle like a lunatic after smashing yet another 300 yard drive!

Everybody is different, and they all react differently to different stimuli. Or "lack" of stimuli!

Away from golf, I have known several big drinkers in my life. I presently drink with someone who drinks an absolute minimum of 20 pints a day, every day. I had a friend (now dead) who drunk 34 pints in one session, and used to drink 16 pints in two hours every Sunday lunchtime. My friend Mark takes the reward though, as he managed to drink 132 cans of Fosters lager in a 4 day weekend.

That's a lot of pints! Not sure I would be still standing after your "meager" 16 pint Sunday lunchtime round? I don't think I've ever drunk that much beer in 6 hours or any amount of time. . . :bugout:

Holy crap. I seriously hope its not the same 25 oz "oil cans" they sell here in the states.

My brother drinks that stuff. It isn't bad, but it can get away from you if you let it.

That's some heavy drinking boys there, I'm not in that league, although we did have what we call a "Beer Round Comp" a few years back. The rules being that yo get 2 shots off your score for every beer over 9 & 2 shots on your score every beer under 9. I struggled up the 18th to my 16th can on the course, while my playing partners who were 2" taller than me and 20kg bigger, slugged it out 19 beers each, with one of them, Charlie, winning the day with a net 58 and a sore head the next day...  I also had a member of my society who has now returned to Florida, a big guy of 140kg who said him and his buddy would do a regular 24 cans each in a round. One of our other members took him on one day and the last I heard was he's still in rehab..

I have only been playing since July and I am not that good of a golfer at all. I honestly don't think I have played 18 holes without a drink. We call it swing oil. When I am playing with my cousin and uncle when we have a bad swing we need that swing oil to loosen it up lol I don't take golf to serious though just play for fun and to get better.

Holy cow! Your buddies take the gold, silver, and bronze medals for alcohol consumption. If I tried that, I'd reside in a "permanent vegetative state"!

Don't get me wrong, I like my beer. Also like bourbon. I've been known to enjoy Port now and then, especially a 10 or 20 year old Tawny. Brandy is dandy, and Sherry is very nice! And I've been known to down an entire bottle of wine if it's good. Well, good enough for who it's for!

But, that damned business of drink, drink, drink all day long was just no good!

I almost never drink alcohol while playing, but last time, they had a deal that included a hot dog and a beer, so at the turn, we ducked into the bar and downed our hot dog and beer.   So on the 10th hole, I nail my drive right down the middle.   We're playing the senior tees, so I was about 40 yards from the green.   So next shot, I hit a beautiful pitch that ended up about 6 feet from the hole.   Now I'm thinking, I've finally found the missing ingredient in my game.   Beer!   So I lined up that 6 foot birdie putt and putted it 4 feet.   My mind had just wandered off in the middle of that putt.

So, beer?   Forget it.  I have to play stone-cold sober.   Not even one beer.
