FlightScope Mevo - Portable Launch Monitor for the Everyday Golfer

How do you tell when it's fully charged? The blue bars just do the, one, two three bars repeat. It doesn't seem to illuminate all blue bars when done because I think I let it go overnight and it was doing the same thing. Memory is fuzzy though.

When leaving, easy to forget to turn off BT and phone and Mevo are still probably polling each other.

The SW stats definitely show what I thought in the other thread - launch angle is your massive variable.

P.S. I'll post my 3W too when mine arrives - that club goes all over the place. Currently, my Mevo package is still bouncing around every post office in New York...!

Thanks, and I think it's a sequence issue, but that remains to be seen. At least that's what I'm hoping will fix what I think is hitting fat which is causing "all over the map" launch angle issues? We'll see. . .

If the Mevo app is quit or not even the front-most app, it'll disconnect and the Mevo will power down/shut off.

Great, so I can just forget about it.

On my unit it takes about 2 to 3 minutes, and not 1 minute. I timed it in my lab while waiting for some stuff to compile. . .Once you get to the behavior of the Mevo it's actually quite a pleasant device to use. Loving it.

The stickers are messy, they don't work well in pockets. Have to keep in a flat place, like wallet.

I forgot them one time and I think I was getting similar numbers.

I watched some video reviews on line and one person takes the large roll he bought and cuts them into 4 inch strips. Then he put the stickers on all the balls he wanted to monitor and set those balls aside while warming up. I forgot where the video was, but I thought the idea was good. Then he could put the stickers back into his bag.

Erik's review noted that outdoors with the 7 foot distance you don't need the stickers.

The 2 strips that come with the Mevo are smaller than 4 inches. They're just not meant to be bent.

Anyone else having issues with the firmware updates taking forever? The first two I did went by really fast. The last one I did took about 45 minutes. I'm currently in the middle of one, it's going on an hour and a half. It's at 33% right now.

Not forever, but It started just as I was getting my driver out yesterday. Which is why I didn’t get any data on that club.

I've had two so far that were quick.

Note that if you force the update it’ll always apply it. I had a very fast one last night but I think that just fuenliads it to the phone. Then it actually applies it to the device which took 8 minutes roughly?

The update I did yesterday took about 4 hours in the end. Maybe it's because there were multiple updates? I haven't used the Mevo in about 2 weeks, so that could be part of it. I don't know. It was odd.

Looks like outdoor practice is back on the menu boys! Will be nice to see ball flight and numbers at the same time.

This is very odd. Had that 4 hour firmware update yesterday. I'm now on my second firmware update today. First one was quick. Second one just started. I don't get why I've had 3 firmware updates in the past 2 days. I used the Mevo fairly often in November, so I shouldn't be this far behind on updates?

Are you sure they’re not being forced? Failing to complete? What version are you on?

They're definitely not being forced. I'm pretty sure they're completing, at least the Mevo App says they are. I'm on the App version 1.2.12. Firmware version says 0.08 (top) and 1.08 (bottom).

    • Shot a 44 at the local muni playing with my wife. Nice day. 4/5 driver tee shots were very good. Need to work on my irons. Short game was very good.
    • I love this part!  A good drill that Erik or Mike taught me early on was to start swinging the club back and forth easy and fluid with loose wrists. Gradually increase the grip pressure on the pinky through middle fingers while keeping the wrists loose. You will find you can grip really hard without tightening the wrists. It take a bit of practice, but it is a good way to separate the muscle groups.
    • I get that feel ain’t real. But that doesn’t mean we’re all mindless sheep with no sense of feel at all. Proprioception can be difficult to pinpoint at high speeds but I damn well know that I’m not squeezing the blood outta my grips nor gritting my teeth on my backswing. I come down with the wrath of all that is evil, but my backswing is all about trying to be fluid and loose.
    • not sure how old they are (shrug)  but i built a combo set of Titleist 690mb's and 716mb...   the 690mb irons i was able to slowly buy here n there, and the irons are basically slightly used or barely used..  the 2 iron i snagged looked brand new lol.....    the only reason i went with 716mb's for the 7-8-9 irons is because those in mint condition are hard to find, for older irons..     i dont ever feel like i am losing out on anything distance wise playing these...     my normal playing set is Titleist 735cm irons and i think they are about 10 years old and still play very nice...  and like my other set, i dont think i am loosing out on anything with this set vs anything new....
    • For most of the weekend it was a test of patience.  Shot 85 Saturday morning, and everything felt off.  Walked the front twice that afternoon to a pair of 40s and while I still wasn't completely in sync with my driver my game felt controllable. Came out early this afternoon and shot a self imposed 82.  I call it self imposed, because I was basically cruising to a 80-78 when I stepped on the 15th tee and pushed a 5 iron into the pond to the right.  Being annoyed and my first major mistake of the day I obviously looked at the green which set 250 from the drop zone and around a dog leg which is protected by OB for the length of the 250 on the left and thought to myself....I can make that shot.  Well, I almost did....however almost still means OB and OB leads to an 8 instead of a 6 if I'd just used my brain.  From there it was go for broke to try to make up for it and resulted in a double bogey on the last hole.  Obviously I had to play more, I must fix that. Caught fire in the evening shot 34 on the back to pair with the 39 on the front.  73 with 2 birdies and 2 eagles (first time with multiple eagles in a round).  Finally felt like my game was all there.  It'll probably be gone tomorrow.
