I know there are a few of us from Washington or nearby.  It seems everywhere else has done some type of meet up.  Is there any interest in trying to get together this summer for a round?  A few options regardless of price: The Home Course (South Seattle), Chambers Bay (South Seattle), Wine Valley (Spokane), Loomis/Semiahmoo (North Bellingham), Eaglemont (where I work :-D, South Bellingham).  Lots of others.  I can try talking to private facilities, but that may be pushing the limit, unless one of you are at a facility that can accommodate us.

I'd certainly be interested -- I live in Edmonds and have been a member of the North Bellingham club for a few years just b/c I have some buddies that play up there (and north sound golf south of B'ham generally sucks).

Anywhere is good with me

Where do you typically play?  I used to play North Bellingham a lot when I lived in Bham, but I'll get there maybe a dozen times a year now.  It's one of my favorites in the Bham area, except when it's a windier day then it's no fun. haha!

I'm just across the border in BC, but I'd be interested as well. I've played some great courses in WA, including some of the ones mentioned.

I'll be in Seattle on June 11, 2017 and available to play on this date as part of my 50 state capital trip.

I am in the Portland area and would be up to drive to Chambers Bay for a round. It's on my list to play this year.

June 11th is not available for me, but if others are good with that date, I can still try to help set it up if need be.

Boy, Chambers Bay in the summer would be fun but it gets quite pricey.  I may be able to get us a decent price but it's still high.  I'm good with that if others are, though.

Are there any other courses people would like to try and play? And what months/days are people open to?

Hello.  I live in Spokane and I there is at least one other member from this area.  It doesn't seem like a NW meet-up has materialized but I'd be interested in one.  I'm a member at the Kalispel Country Club in Spokane if anyone is out this way and would like to get together.  It's the former Spokane Country Club which was founded in 1898 but was bought by the Kalispel Tribe out of bankruptcy last year.  Great course if you're in the area.

Also, everyone here seems to want to play Gamble Sands... Wine Valley is in Walla Walla not Spokane.

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
