Regardless of what the value guide says, a club is worth what you can actually sell it for.

True. I've both made out, and lost in ebay auctions.

I've traded in a bunch of clubs at golf stores that use the PGA Value Guide. I could have probably always gotten a little more if I went the Ebay route, but it was nice to just get it done done with no effort.

Well, I found another one. Golf brokers that says it pays cash within a week, and they will price match PGAvalueguide. eBay takes a fee too. Some clubs it better to list on eBay. However, you aren't getting 53 dollars for a beat it sm6 like you are on PGAvalue. Globalgolf pays you in credit within a week

Why do people use callaway pre owned? You have to buy new callaway clubs?

Maybe they want to buy Callaway clubs.

In Arizona clubs aren't worth a whole lot. I still can't believe I paid 400 dollars for a TM 580 back in the day. Now I buy used off of eBay, 2nd swing, or local shops used racks. I negotiate with them since I know they got them for nothing.

I do not think the value guide is a scam as the topic says, its like a car right when you drive it off the lot it lost value, thats why you get gap insurance. Too bad they do not have that for clubs. Right when you hit a golf ball once the club lost value and the more you hit it the more value it continues to loose.

Living in Carlisle PA I cant find any local shops. I wish we had more so I could take advantage of them. My best bet is just Ebay. I could never bring myself to spend 500 dollars on a club even if I had a lot of money to spend. I just do not think the value is there for me its just not worth that much to me. I believe its not going to change your swing that much more by spending more.

do not some of the retail stores, use the PGA guide to establish trade in prices? Even EBAY a retailer I have purchased from (Mr. Topes), will buy old clubs. Not sure what they use as a guide.

I've traded in a few things at Golfers Warehouse here in Massachusetts.  They bring up the pga value guide on the computer so u can see . .it's a fair way for them to work trades consistently.

Golfers Warehouse is part of Vans, Roger Dunn etc...  Might be more worth your while to visit a location with the clubs in hand.
