Never heard of these but very not up to date on equipment.

At that price you should just buy Snell. Tour quality ball and cheaper compared to other premium balls on the market.

There are plenty of quality balls that you've actually heard of for that price.

OnCore is a little unusual.

They're based in Buffalo, and that's in our PGA section, but they've not done too much marketing even within our PGA section.

Their balls have a hard metal hollow sphere as their core, IIRC. This shifts the weight out slightly and reduces spin, particularly off shorter irons. That can mean a reduced curve, too, if you slice it.

They also seem to think there's a "rifle spin" that the 3Trak people say exists too, but I've never heard of anyone else talking about it either.

I've done a little research on the offerings from Oncore. They have several models and the one that touts a metal core with "rifle spin action" is the Caliber. I recently got a free sleeve of one of their latest called Elixr. (except for shipping which cost $3.99). It has a composite core, with an infused mantle, and Urethane cover.  The MSRP is around $40 but you can pay less under their "loyalty" plan which offers discounts that vary with your purchase volume. Also available on Amazon for around $32 with free shipping.

So far I like them, especially the feel off putter. They  check up nicely on approaches too.   Price is higher than some, but still reasonable for what you get.  If I wanted to go the economy route, I would stick with Wilson Ultra 500 which can be had for $9.99 for 15 pack at big box stores.  For me, and my slower swing speed,  these perform as well as any of the premium balls I have tried in the past.

ymmv of course.

I play the OnCore Avant which I would suggest you try it.
A really good ball for a the price.
It is a soft feel, good spin and good flight.
I feel it plays as well as any Brand name ball on todays market.

I may give them a try. As I mentioned, the Wilson Ultra 500's feel pretty good, but won't do any harm to compare. Thanks

FYI, OnCore are now avail at Dick's.  Currently the Avant are out of stock if you buy direct from the mfr. I went ahead and ordered a dozen of the Elixr after having tried out the "free" sleeve they sent me. Use their loyalty program and the cost is $31.95 vs the $49 at Dick's.

OnCore Golf is currently out of stock of all their golf balls. They requested my email to be notified when their inventory has been replenished.  Just have to wait and see. I like their Elixr but price is a tad high. You may still find them at Dick's and other stores,
