Jason Day's Putter

Could not help but notice today Jason Day's putter looks pretty much like mine. His has a red head, and probably a normal putter. Mine is a cut down Mid Belly (Odyssee Metal-X 7 Mid). Much like a "tank" putter as it has a head weight of 400g.  I was lucky in that I simply cut off about 7 inches from the grip end with the grip still attached. The balance was not effected in a bad way, and feels even better. I thought I would have to add a counter weight, but it was not necessary.  I do not think I will paint mine red though. Black anodized with milled face is fine with me.

Pat Perez made a decent showing today as well. He is over 40 years. Fowler hit a driver off the deck! (High cut).  I was surprized to learn that Day does not use any fairway metals. His iron play is strong though.

Day's putter is a new Taylormade, I can't remember the model but they are starting to show up in the pro shops. Just had my hands on one yesterday. I agree though, looks like a odyssey #7 mid mallet

It's a new putter that hasn't been released yet.

Kind of looks like the old Odyssey Sabertooth but a bit more simple.

I do believe it is out now, I will double check tomorrow at the shop. I could be wrong, what I seen was a Ardmore but not sure if it was a Ardmore 2

yah, the shape is nearly identical to mine. Different hosel (mine is like the saber tooth hosel), sole weights, probably insert, but dimensional, nearly identical. I wonder if there is a case for copyright from Odyssey ?

I always liked the Sabertooth. Almost bought one when they first came out.

I think the Odyssey was out before, but yes, the move to red is funny. Red must be the hot color this year for sales

and now Scotty Cameron has entered the frey with his Futura 7 for $394...exact same shape as the two above except his has a closed end.  I did not post a link, but I am sure many have seen it on their banners. (Yahoo mail has lots of them).
