Im surprised The Open didnt get higher actually. Before I clicked on this I was expecting like a 50-50 split between The Masters and The Open, if not The Open having over 50%

I'm not that surprised. US Open isn't the home open for many (any?) European Tour players. Plus, the US Open is generally the most difficult major and it is slow, especially the first 2 rounds. PGA Championship is always an afterthought.

I think if you polled the PGA Tour on this question, the Masters would be way out in front, and the British and US Opens would be neck and neck but way behind the Masters. Masters has the combination of the course, pampering, and its place on the calendar.

I am a bit surprised that the Masters is so much more popular than the Open in Europe.  But in general I think the relative rankings are as expected.

Just goes to show in what high regard Augusta National GC and The Masters itself is held. Let's not forget that The Masters has always made a priority of inviting international players of note into it's field.The Scots loved Bobby Jones like he was one of their own!

That said, I can't see a Euro turning his nose up at a US Open or PGA trophy!
