Day 3 - busy all day and just worked on putting through the small Putting gates. Good focused practice.  Eager to get back on the course!

Day 49 (9/12/2022): Back to work today...I did some dry swings in the morning just to feel the pivot motion, specifically the lateral move left as the club is still going back but close to the top. Tonight I did a 15 minute session on Hack Motion and then some chip/pitch practice into a net.

Day 318 - Missed yesterday. Pouring rain today, so I worked on 9 to 3 swings and really slow full swings (w/o a ball) in the garage, focusing on impact position and in particular having my weight forward at impact position.

Day 4 - Practiced for 90 minutes at the range tonight.  Trying to lock in a modest swing change and hit the ball well.  Finished with 10 minutes of chipping practice from difficult lies. Did not make any, but happy with the efforts.

Day 91 (13 Sep 22) Continued work on the setup where I am grooving a slightly stronger grip.  Used the drill to hit some easy 1/4 pitches in the backyard with the PW.  Seeing much fewer fats and thins with more predictable flight, which for me is not sending it through a window or across someone’s yard but rather consistent distance.

Day 56: 9/14/2022

So, I posted some video for Yoda to look at and he responded. So, I spent a lot time today running back and forth from my computer in my office to the mirrors where I can look at the slow motion swings I make.

Golf for Chet is 2 steps forward, 2 steps back.

I have a couple of rounds planned here in the next few days so, I hopefully can get some good work in at the range tomorrow and Thursday to work on some what should I call them? Let's say "Previous Priority Pieces That Have Returned".

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 2:

Worked a bunch on backswing using mirrorvision instead of LVP camera now that I have an iPad. Also hit some balls with 4-iron and 7-iron, except I busted a hole in my net, so I used Almost Golf balls instead of real golf balls.

I think it's time to upgrade from these cheaper practice nets (Rukket, Spornia) to something more substantive like a Net Return.

Day 190.  No more of this "I had five minutes" -- I allocated time today to actually practice!  Indoors, off a mat, into a net, real balls, many rehearsals per ball as I needed.

Day 50 (9/13/22): Today I had 2 practice sessions, one of about 10 minutes in the morning, and another of about 20 minutes in the evening. I practiced chips, short pitches, and a few 3/4 length shots, all with wedges or short irons. I was mainly focusing on pivot and form, using foam balls mostly, with a few real balls in the evening. I finished the session with about 5 minutes of Kwon drills, mostly the step drill, focusing on using the ground, waiting on the downswing, and having the body control or initiate movements and trying to eliminate becoming too arm-driven early in the downswing.

Day 319 - Still working on 5SK #2; getting my weight forward at impact. Did the drill from the 5SK video "Are You Turning Like a Tour Player" today with my 6H and AlmostGOLF balls in the yard. Playing 18 tomorrow.

Day 57: 9/14/2022

More range time today. Worked on my priority pieces, while simultaneously trying to calm down a squat I like to add into my backswing. I sent some video to Yoda and he has commented. I'm going to try to incorporate his comments into some mirror work tonight. And since I'm scheduled to play tomorrow I'll try to bring it to the course.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

Day 92 (14 Sep 22) - Continued work on same pieces that have been my focus for the past week.  Moved over to full swings with hard foam balls, working across the bag (driver, hybrid, long iron, mid, and short iron) - simulating play on the course.

Day 317, September 14, 2022

Worked at the range for about 30 minutes. I'll post the end stuff with a 9I in my member swing topic.

Day 5- Putting on a 3’ ruler, and using both the medium and small putting gates.  Testing a new ball, the Maxfli Tour X.  Liked how it has performed in the short game..

Day 191.  Allocated a half hour for practice time tonight (the usual, but now a half hour instead of 5-10 minutes) and used it well!

Also I finally have mirrors in my practice room.  They're kinda small, but I can confirm my shoulders are where I want to exaggerate them to, and where my hind end goes in the backswing too.

Day 51 (9/14/22): Another long work day, but before bed (just now) I had a nice practice session of about 30 minutes. Foam balls first, then real balls. I was still using the Kwon ideas but not step drills. Just concentrating on body driven pivot, and kicking the ground a little with the right leg going back, and then really kicking with the left leg for the downswing. I also tried to imagine pulling the grip off the golf club as I was kicking the ground. At first this made me swing left which is great; I was hitting an 8 iron and had a path very close to zero, sometimes a degree left, with just a fade of a yard or two. Eventually my right path and draw took over, but if I really concentrated on the pull of the grip, the path would tend to zero out or tip left a little. Contact was excellent. I hit mostly 8 irons, but then did a few with a lob wedge and then with a hybrid. I would say I hit maybe 12 foam balls and maybe 20-25 real balls.

    • I think it's just to provide clarity. If you marked your ball with a pebble or a small twig, that's a loose impediment, and someone else could move it. An "obstruction" or a man-made thing, or an artificial thing, isn't a loose impediment.
    • Day 243 (2 Jan 25) - Grandson directed drills today - he wanted to hit easy pitches into the holes of the Martin bird house (had it at ground level) - it is doable but it calls for a perfectly executed shot.  He came close a couple of times.  For me it’s about distance control and such.  Drill two - me hit same foam balls to him while he’s in the swing saucer - into a slight wind…now it’s distance control plus anticipating the wind.  A fun exercise - got really close on a number of shots.  Drill three - take his youth Cobra SW and hit flops into to the foam ball basket while he was holding it. Great eye-hand work for him - wedge control for me.  That little wedge  works well.  By the end my junior coach was done and I was too….
    • Going to give this a try for a while and see if it sticks.  Day 1 Today was some full practice: 30 minutes of range work focused on coordinating weight transfer based on Evolvr feedback 10 minutes putting speed control work 10 minutes chipping practice with random targets 5 minutes bump and run work with 7 iron
    • Day 23: 1/2/2025 Had a great range session today. It was downright frigid this morning at the range, but the overhead heater made it tolerable. I started off working on my PPJ swing thought. Some slower, swings, somewhat exaggerating the movements. Then I switched focus and just hit the 6-iron about a half dozen times without thinking. I filmed two of these swings to send to Yoda.  After that, I worked my way up and down the bag (random practice... yay.) Hitting one shot with each club aiming at a specific target. I tried to focus on where and not how. Over all, I was pretty impressed with my results.  If you categorize each shot as either good, bad or good enough. I would say nearly all of them were either in the good or good enough category. Again, yay.  I'm going to do some more mirror work tonight, looking at my videos I think I can still improve what I'm doing. But over all, I was really happy with today's range session. I feel like I've had a giant leap forward in my swing. We shall see if the progress can continue.  Yay.
    • Day 169: did a stack session. Worked on the early backswing stuff with slow rehearsal swings during rest breaks as well.
