Day 67, January 6, 2023

Messed around with my SuperSpeed Squeeze today. I'm exploring whether it can be used to help people understand wrist conditions in addition to understanding squeeze/grip "strength."

Day 37: 01/06/2023

Hit balls in the garage on 3 different occasions. Each session was about 15 minutes long and I worked on a different priority piece each time.

I also spent time putting the devil ball.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 5 (07 Jan 23) - Spent some time working on the takeaway with the putter by setting up a ball about 18” behind to help focus one taking the club straight back, barely tapping the back ball and coming smoothly thru the ball.  Then went totally opposite with some full swings with the 7i in the backyard.

Day 68, January 7, 2023

Mostly did full-speed swings today as a sort of check-in. Still felt a little bit "hold off-y" but contact was decent. Backswing is likely decent. Going to give it another week and then focus mostly on the downswing.

Day 38: 1/7/2023

Worked in the garage on my priority pieces. I kind of have 3 that I'm working on. Today I experimented with trying to incorporate all three at once. It didn't go that well. To be honest it wasn't terrible. But I'm still much better off working them one at a time. I'll spend the next few days continuing to work on them one at a time. Late next week or next weekend I'll get to the indoor range and get some video.

Right now I'm going to get up and do my speed swing training.

Day 6 (8 Jan 23) -  pitches and chips in the backyard this afternoon.  Used it to setup the club with the ball on the outside line of the grooves.  Then purposed to swing to strike with the center of the club face.  Ended with working the other side by aligning the ball to the inner line on the club face.

Day 69, January 8, 2023

Good slow-mo stuff today on the backswing. Maintaining the wrist cup on the backswing is big for me.

Day 7 (9 Jan 23) - Worked on hitting the club face consistently with the driver, 3w, 4h and 6i today.  Went the foot spray route (see pics) in the backyard using the hard foam balls. End results - was getting too high on the driver face, but was happy that all 4 swings were in the same general spot.  With the 3w and 4h I was staying more in the face center. No horrible slices or pushes.  The recent work on setup looks to be helping me have some of the most consistent contact in terms of hitting the same area of the club face to date.

Day 24 - Worked on some short wedge shots in the yard today with my 54* and 59* wedges. Set an alignment rod 5 paces from where I was hitting from to represent the edge of the green and a towel 2-paces from the alignment rod to represent my landing spot. Hit short shots aimed at the landing spot, but in no event shorter than the alignment rod. Will be working on lots of shots of this sort as I had a problem with leaving these shots short in 2022.

Day 40: 1/8/2023

I got about a half dozen sessions in the garage today working on my priority pieces. Basically every time I had a few minutes I went in the garage and hit a handful of balls into the net. I rotated working on different priority pieces. I'm looking forward to getting to the indoor range here soon and capturing some more video.

Oh, and I did my swing speed training too.

    • Wordle 1,652 X/6* 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 Yup - one of those Wordle moments….
    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
