Day 11: 5 Apr

Played 18 holes at home course. Was a struggle - weather didn’t help, but never really got into a groove. Yet, when I added it up at the end I still played somewhere near handicap, helped by my short game. Trust my golf swing, especially off the tee, and I’ll do ok.

More drills planned for later: keep working the feel post-impact to help fix my early release.

Day 17: 4/5/2023

I only had time for ten minutes of mirror work today. 7 iron and slow motion on my priority piece. I also took a hard look at my posture and my set up.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 15: went down and took some swings today. Did not like want I saw from my hips on video. Seemed I was getting my trail hip a bit to deep. Coming at the target a bit. Old habits die hard.  Will have to take a couple steps back and rehearse slower swings.

Day 156, April 5, 2023

Played 18 holes today. Hit some putts and short game shots before-hand, too.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

Day 13: Stack training and hit a new e-speed high of 107! A little surprised after an 11-hour workday and poor sleep. Finished the night with putting practice through gates.

That's funny because my head tends to go the opposite direction. I have to think of "not looking" at the back of the ball. 🤷‍♂️

Day 12: 6 Apr

Large bucket of range balls, working on reducing/fixing my early release and some practice with new 4 hybrid and 3 wood to try and get better consistency (driver is very much a work in progress!). The two clubs are getting there, just need to practice and practice some more! Used the trackman at the range to play 9 holes at PGA National (off sensible tees) and was -4 nett. Obviously not the same a real-life, but continues to boost my confidence.

Day 40 (6 Apr 23) - Worked on driver swing - practiced swinging thru a pair of tee pegs. Then hit a few hard foam balls with pegs in place.  Wrapped up the session working with 50-54-58 wedges off the portable mat (replicating tight lies) to pin distances (10 - 20 - 30 yds).

More 7 iron mirror work today. Set up, hip movement, head still. Then race out to the garage net and try to replicate that feeling when hitting a ball... Also with a 7 iron.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

    • Day 7 - Mirror work, trying to hit that PGA-logo position in my follow through. Mirror really helped, need to film soon.
    • So hit the😝 irons crooked AND play layup golf?? Hahaha.. no thanks. I would rather stay home. 😊
    • First - glad to see these popping up again. Now to the topic at hand - I would rather be option 1.  If I know how far it's going (I mean a yard or two) I can always play to the wider parts of the fairway and/or the green and still do reasonably well.  Now if I could just really hit the "number" that well.
    • Day 2 (10 Mar 25) - Long day of driving to dr appt with son.  Thankfully got in one of my fave putting drills (two ball side by side) - the goal to have both balls come off the putter face equally by having them come off the putter face as close to the same time as possible.  First few rolls - the toe was leading the way as that ball flew off the face.  By the end of the drill both balls were basically equal off the face, rolling to within a couple of inches of each other.  Nice drill of focusing on squaring the face.  BTW - I was using the old Odyssey DF992.
    • Day 161 - 2025-03-10 Got a decent, long session in. Focused mostly on the backswing feels, and moved on toward the end of the four hours (not all hitting balls, I installed a motion sensing light switch in there too, and worked with a student over FaceTime for a bit) on the downswing feel.
