Day 20: 12/17/2023:

I missed yesterday so I put in some extra work today. Hit the indoor putting mat first thing this morning. Then spent time in the garage hitting balls into the net, working almost entirely on my priority piece.
This evening I decided to grab a 7 iron and work on slow motion swings in front of the mirror. Most of my mirror work focuses on my rib cage and my hips.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 9 (18 Dec 23) - Spent some time with the old 5h (Nike CPR) - working on maintaining a quiet head and weight forward.  Yard was tough to navigate as we had 6" of rain yesterday at the house with the N'easter that blew through.

Day 414, December 18, 2023

Half an hour downtown. We were there an hour but I got a good 30 minutes of practice in.

I'm experimenting with slight differences on the backswing/hinge stuff. I can't get to the top only to lose the wrist conditions in transition.

Day 22: 12/19/2023:

Went to the outdoor range today. There were like 10 of us there. With the heaters on it was fine.

Anyway, had a good session. Started with my over-speed training. Numbers were a little lower than indoors, but I was wearing an extra layer or two.

Then worked on my priority piece. When I get that right good things happen.

Then I "played" my tournament course... imaginary course.

Finally, I finished with a closest to the pin contest against another gentleman at the range. We did best 2 out of 3 at a number of targets.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 415, December 19, 2023

Got to GE about two hours before my first lesson today, so worked on the backswing and am starting to work on the downswing. I think my backswing is good enough, but the transition is where things go awry now.

Worked on full swing stuff at Golf Evolution this morning. Starting to slowly work on backswing stuff and blending it into transition stuff.

Day 1:

Been practicing daily without posting. Today I did  indoor work; backswing practice with mirrorvision face on, focus on a more centered turn, and then some slow downswing rehearsals (just first part of downswing, arms lowering a small shift forward, or “magic move” as AMG guys say).

Day 23: 12/20/2023

Went to the outdoor range on lunch today.

Probably won't get to go again for a few days. So, I did a lot of block work with the 6 iron and the driver.

It'll probably be a lot of mirror work from now until the end of the year.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

    • Day 20: 12/30/2024 I've been working on my swing in front of the mirror today. Spent a lot of time at slow speed, mid speed and a couple at full speed. I just came back in from the garage where I practiced my PPJ swing by hitting about 10 balls with the 6-iron into my net.
    • I'm just guessing here. But couldn't Titleist build a mini-driver with a very low center of gravity? Then it would work off the deck. The deep face wouldn't be as problematic.  I'm just spit-balling. I know nothing about this product.
    • Yea, but a deeper face makes it not as useful off the fairway. This is why the driver is not easy to hit off the fairway.  For a select few PGA Tour players, it might be good. The concept of the mini driver has been around for a long time now. Very few ever keep it in their bag. This is a guess, but probably because it sucks off the ground. Nothing here looks like it is any different than the other mini drivers of the past.  I get it from Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris point of view. They hit the ball a long way. The odds they ever hit a 3-wood off the turf is like what, a handful a times a year? They probably would hit it 98% off the tee and 2% off the ground. They probably want something that think is longer off the tee versus their 3-wood because they don't hit the 3-wood off the ground much at all.  This is where I say, Titleist claiming "worked as a go-to club off the tee and off the deck." is more marketing than something that is actually beneficial to a golfer. This is primarily for off the tee.
    • One thing I've noticed with Mini Drivers is that the manufacturers seem like they keep their quantities somewhat limited.  The last two TaylorMade Mini's and the Callaway AI Smoke Mini were sold out quickly.
    • Huh? That's the niche of these mini-drivers. They can still work off the tee and off the fairway. They're designed for and work for both things, which is all that blurb says. You can see from the photos that it's a bit of a deeper face, which I find is more important off the tee than the fairway.
