Day 566, May 21, 2024

Six-iron swings in the back yard. Felt good. It's hot here, though.

Day 17:  Practiced with my pitching wedge today.  I haven’t been officially coached on it, but my son has tried to teach me (he’s very good with them) and I just cannot get a hang of his method.  I have a ridiculous move that works quite well for me but I probably shouldn’t get into any bad habits.

Day 20 (21 May 24) - Played 18 with a couple of friends at one of the nearby courses…a personal course best of 84.  A lot of greenside up and down scrambling including a number of bunker shots….

day 68. Technique work into the net. Lots of rehearsal and slow swings with a ball trying to understand how to achieve a flat wrist at impact. 🤷‍♂️

Day 146: 5/21/24

Putting through gates for distance control and chipping practice indoors.

Day 316: mirror work for a while. Working on getting my hips more open and my hands down faster in the downswing.

Day 39:

Same thing as previous post, with a 5-iron for about 15 minutes. Feel pretty good about progress so far, so spent another 20+ minutes working on short game shots, which I have been really struggling with on course lately.

Day 137 - Upper back was tight today so I did some more pitching work. Really working on letting the club fall instead of forcing it.

Day 4 - Hot and windy. Hit some balls on the range to see what my trajectory was like, then a quick six holes. Some practice on the net later.

Day 21 (22 May 24) - hit a few PW in the backyard….making some easy pitches, bump and runs…

Day 69. Few mins working on standard putt length followed by impact technique practice. Got to what I think was a good place, took a 10 min break and came back but wasn’t able to repeat it.

Day 147: 5/22/24

Stack Training Full Speed Spectrum session 15/24. Hit my high speed for this program and tied my highest speed ever for a session. This is a speed I have hit 4 other times in the past year. Hotter temperatures have been good for me and speed has improved. On my last day in my fifties, I was happy with tonight’s performance.  Looking forward to Friday’s session.

Spent most of my time working on pitch shots today, mixed in a bit of full swing afterward.

Day 317: mirror work again. Working on the same downswing stuff.

Day 138 - Hit some balls at lunch in a bay with a Foresight monitor. Good to get the feedback hitting real balls instead of my usual foam balls, although it was a pretty frustrating session. My ball striking, as it has been on the course, was awful. I’d follow a great shot with a bad mishit. A lot of work to do.
