This woulde be a de facto bifurcation, right? No way are 'they' rolling back the ball and expect it to not have any consequences on the amateur games?

Jack has advocated for a "tour" ball, not a roll back in ball distance for us regular folks. Considering the endorsement money available from the golf ball companies, I don't think that's happening. For much of his career jack played one of the werst balls ever made, the MacGregor Tourney. There were pros back then who told Jack to ditch the thing, but he was a MacGregor player and stayed loyal until he started his own outfit. AS far as Augusta National goes, when they were lengthening all those holes in order to "Tiger proof" the course, what they failed to consider was that he'd still be hitting shorter clubs than everyone else into the greens!

Introducing the "Jack Ball".  Balata covered, wound, and nearly round.  Experience golf the way the Golden Bear did.  Or...try out the "Daly Special".  It goes a mile...and must be around here somewhere.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."
