President Donald Trump was on hand at The Greenbrier Resort for a Salute To Service dinner on Tuesday, and with the Greenbrier hosting this week’s PGA Tour event, a number of pros were in attendance including Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson and Keegan Bradley.

Beyond talking about the bravery and sacrifice made by the men and women in the armed forces, Trump also lauded the strength and mental fortitude of the golfers in attendance who would be playing in A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, the official name of the Tour stop this week.

“These are unbelievably talented people,” Trump said. “They’re talented in their mind and in their body. Their muscles are strong but their mind has to be stronger. It’s tough. And these are tough people.

“I’ll be sitting home at the White House, and I’ll be watching and saying ‘I wish I could play like that.'”

A nice tribute.

I find it interesting just how into Golf your presidents are. I was watching a texas event a month or 2 back, and in the middle of the commentary none other than George H.W Bush joined the commentary box too. Nice to see, and must be good for the game over there.

Tidbit: The Walker Cup is named after George H. W. Bush's grandfather.

And yeah... presidents like to golf.

Darn weather delay, I thought I'd have a chance to watch a bit of golf during lunch.

They're showing last year's event instead, which is fine.  Just heard the announcer say that no one recovers after hitting spectators better than Phil. ;-)

Anybody see Kisner's 3 putt on 18?  Aimpoint would have definitely helped him there but that was a wicked challenging putt.
