Is this yet another attempt to give major status to the Players?

Oops, I posted the wrong link, here's the correct one: https://www.pgatour.com/company/2018/07/10/pga-tour-unveils-significantly-revamped-2018-2019-season-schedule.html

No it’s not another attempt to give the Players major status. The Players was originally in March to begin with. The schedule was in need of a major overhaul (especially the playoffs). This allows a shorter season, which was needed. Glad to see the playoffs down to three events as well. Much needed.

Four months, four majors...bookended by The Players and the playoffs.  Very balanced schedule which is what they are intending along with pulling some things in to get away from NFL and college football.

I like it.

Fairways and Greens.

Damn as someone who works the Valspar every year, the PGA was not kind to it putting it between the Players and WGC Match Play. Wonder if they’ll get any top 50 players even show up for it now.
