Affordable Waterproof Rain Pants

Any recommendations on affordable rain pants. It doesn't rain that much here, and I won't set out to play in the rain anyway. But sometimes I do get caught in it and would like to have a pair in reserve.

Unless you spend some good money for something like Footjoy, I believe you'll find that most of the cheaper brands don't breath very well.   If you don't get caught in the rain very often,  cheaper may be better.

Try the REI private label pants, I have a pair and they’re great for light conditions. Not Gore-Tex but very affordable, breathable and weatherproof. If you want high end that will last forever look at Arcterex SL offerings.

Find sales on Nike Storm Fits, or go on eBay if you can find Galvin Green. I think the Nikes' that are about 3 yr old should now be at a good price.

I've used Frogg Toggs for less expensive solutions. Mostly known in the hunting and fishing world,

Check Sun Mountains website. They still have some outerwear from the last few years. Not sure about pants, but I just bought a couple jackets for a real good deal.
