Anyone have this yet? I am thinking about getting one. I am not one to hit off mats for fear of injuruy. However, I think this might work well when it's a "mats only" day, when there is no regular tee available.

Hitting off dirt is more likely to cause injury IMO. You never know what's under the ball. Could be a rock, mud, who knows…? With a mat, you know exactly what is under the ball.

Here's the video:

Meh. Not legal for tournament play, so… why?

If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably marketed towards the same group of golfers that buys stuff like a ball grabber that sticks to the grip of your putter because they have a hard time bending over. The video seemed to pretty heavily emphasize that you never had to bend over throughout the entire operation of the tee.

That said, I think the product isn't likely to take off in the same way those ball grabbers for the putter did. The reason is that the ball grabbers also cater to the market of lazy people because it actually is somewhat easier (on the surface, at least, even though usually not in practice) than bending over to pick up the golf ball. This one just adds steps and is more effort, so will really only be purchased by those with back issues. The problem is that people with back issues preventing them bending over aren't likely to have a good time while golfing due to their back pain (see: Tiger Woods).

Yes! And look at the broken down edges of holes that are now out of round because these guys are gouging the ball out of the hole with their putter heads.
