I like what you have done.

I think there's a hidden benefit in becoming comfortable with a 1 iron even if it is punching outta trees. You can use it for little runners around greens too.

I use with my 5i with variations of foot set up or my 3h.  I can get nice low shots with both.  My bag is close to full to use a dedicated club.  Most of the courses I play do not have so many trees that I come up with more than 1, 2 max in a round.  On the other hand I need to work with a bit more loft to clear traps or liquid.

But, I guess my goal is to learn to master a number of whacks with each club.  If I do, instead of 12 clubs in the bag, I can almost think I am carrying between 24 to 30.

In My BELDIN Green Bay Packer 1999 SUPER BOWL CHAMPION bag :  :ping: G410 Plus Alta Red CB 55 sr,  GX-7  (acting as a 3 wood)  :ping: 4H, 5H. Sr Flex   :ping:  G400 6i Sr Flex, G-Max 7i. 9i Sr Flex , Glide 2.0  Wedges (50º, 56º, 60º)  :touredge:  Chipper  :ping: Putter: Cadence Mid-TR 350g:bridgestone:  e12 for the items I try to hit on purpose.  :footjoy: on my feet and hands, US Embassy-Singapore hat on my head (with PACKERS, Brewers or UW-Badgers hats as options).

The game is a lot different with trees.  Where I play you can be just a little off and find yourself in the soup.  I don't know how many times I've plotted a shot, perfectly, only to have it deflect off a twig or branch.  I know that was not the point of your post but...do you carry a cactus iron?  Or a snake wedge?

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

Not many Cacti on courses here in AZ as they are protected by by law; that is a good thing if you would see my game!   No interactions YET with snakes, but I have had to consider  an alligator a true obstacle in Florida; and in Wisconsin I had a Canadian Goose attack me.

Goose turds and fire ants are the most common obstacles around here.  Thanks for the reply.

    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
