@Chasing_Bogeys is planning on leaving the weekend of the 26th free. I’m free then as well as far as I know.

@Shindig, @tehuti or anyone else interested in Brookside/Santa Anita or anywhere in the area?

But Brookside is such a far drive from me ... ;-)

Yes, I have to leave Saturday open just in case my club asks me for team play, but they probably would have already if I were going to... I think I'm a reserve.  Anyway, assuming that doesn't happen, or even if it does and we choose Sunday, I'm fine with either day.

Had a great time playing early morning golf for a change.

I was really cold...but the company was warm and pleasant! Fun round.

We’ll have to get more people on board with winter outings @tehuti!

We got some good partners for a fun foursome 😊

Agreed @Lihu, aside from the cold weather on the front 9 it was great.

@tehuti, @Shindig, @Chasing_Bogeys Do you want to meet weekend of the 26th at Diamond Bar? Thinking Sunday morning or afternoon?

Or San Dimas again, but afternoon since it’s pretty frigid early mornings. 😁

Saturday mornings are best for me. 7am would be my first choice. I'm happy to play DB or San Dimas.

I can't do Sunday Mornings (church) and Sunday afternoon at DB we'll never get through the round.

Just so you guys are aware of who you're inviting .. I'm going to shoot 90 - 100. I shouldn't slow you down as I'm aware of getting around the course, but you will see some ugly golf.

Ok, I’ll do that too. It’s just really cold 🥶

I think @tehuti and I shot 90-100 last Sunday. Other than making 6 greens, I shot pretty poorly 🤪

I think there was a 4 putt in there too. Those greens were tough🙈

We still had fun.

I can do the occasional Saturday morning, but Sundays are actually better for me. However, once daylight savings time comes back I am up for Saturday afternoons, depending on the course. I play mostly in North OC but I’ll travel on occasion.

Don’t worry about the high scores. I am right there myself.

Yeah, once we get some afternoon/evening daylight I'm happy to play either Sat or Sun afternoons. I'm completely fine with North OC.

That is the NAMM show weekend, so I can’t do Sunday, but maybe that Saturday.

I have something some evening that weekend, I need to look up. Most times work for me. I strongly prefer mornings. When the L.A. Open sent me my volunteer schedule for this year and asked me to get to Riviera to start at 530AM both Sat + Sun, I was delighted.

I think I didn't break 100 my first two TST outings.  I'd have to check, but it isn't that important.  I know one of them I shot 99 on the nose, and my partner and I won whatever contest it was, 100% due to him.  Literally, his score on every hole won it.

My point is, ugly golf doesn't matter.  Keep up and it's fine.  As long as you do the usual etiquette things for speeding up play (hitting provisional, watching balls off the tee, don't take ten practice swings for your eighth shot, etc) we'll all have fun.

Ok, let’s plan for Diamond Bar on Saturday 26th?

Should be fun, we should plan more later with @Shindig as well!

I think @Shindig, will be a the "Riviera" club that day. He'll be in fineries, while we'll be in the mud at San Dimas Canyon or Diamond Bar?

If @tehuti can't make it, do you want to go to Brookside @Chasing_Bogeys? It's closer and cheaper?

Yes to Brookside if @tehuti can't join us.

We can decide when we have to make a tee time a week ahead. Usually, call in 7 days exactly from the tee time...

    • Day 109 - 2025-01-17 Good 45 minute session today. No real pulls. Flipping the club up in front of me is helpful. Primes the system. Similar to what I was doing at Sand Valley, too.
    • Day 184: went to a simulator. Played Portush and did decent. Then worked on the range for a bit. Contact is a bit toward the heel, but not bad.
    • I am that old.....born in the 50's, started school in the 60's, finished high school in the 80's, married and divorced  in the 90's, remarried in the 00's - still married and now I'm just north of 65....yes I am that old
    • Oh - should've name it - its a "Golden Retriever by Pro Classic".  I don't think this particular version is even made these days.  There is a very similar one on Amazon sold by Mobile Pro Shops....I know way too much info - but it took the count from five to six brands in the bag yesterday....
    • Day 258 (17 Jan 25) - it was the Friday men's outing and I was paired with my usual side guy, Tony, plus the greenskeeper and assistante greenskeeper.  It was not a great round - started off with dbl-bogie-dbl - I thought the day would be a day of all 6's.  Overall the dbls eased off as I finished with an 88 (45/43).  Drives were okay, wedge play was off - best part of the day were the approaches. It was a good day, not an outstanding one - had some great recoveries and decent putts.
