Curses! I've joined this forum too late to make a timely point - others have done the job.
Just one thing tho - when Tiger was on his last 'streak', it came to a juddering halt when Paul Casey won the HSBC championship (I think it was...) at Mission Hills. Not just 'some European event', as the Sports Illustrated correspondent implied, but a pretty big championship, with Tiger, Els, VJ, Monty, etc, etc, all playing - lots of world ranking points up for grabs there...
Tiger, Ernie, VJ, Cabrera, Harrington, Mickelson, etc play on European Tour events. I haven't noticed them popping out for a weekend on the Nationwide Tour...

European definitely outweights the Nationalwide tour...like many have said. Many of the personalities prefer playing more on the euro to be closer to home and make a decent wage.

Let's just be clear about something. The European Tour is not a 'feeder' to the PGA TOUR, it's a fully-fledged tour in its own right. So, really, a comparison between the European Tour and the PGA Tour is fatuous.
What will be interesting is next year, when the European Tour becomes The Race to Dubai. The final tournament, the Dubai World Championship, will be the richest event in the world.
So, I repeat - the European Tour should not be compared with the Nationwide. The latter should be compared for quality and depth of field with the Challenge Tour - not the Euro Pro Tour, which is division 3, more akin to the old Mastercard Tour or the Gateway Tour.
(As a matter of interest, I think Nationwide probably comes out ahead in that comparison).

How dreadful of me. I'm so old that I have memory hangover from when the US never lost.

So can I. Which makes the current situation all the sweeter!

I meant 'between the European Tour and the NATIONWIDE Tour is fatuous".
Apologies for any confusion.
Just back from a few very windy holes on top of a hill in S England. What fun!

This is a typical non-American view... please don't lump all of us together like this. Read my previous post and you will see that what I said was fair and accurate.

How can I respect a golfers opinion who carries a clone in his bag? At least lie about online and drop the (clone) from your tag. Drop $100 on ebay and get the real deal clubs

The European Tour is far superior to the Nationwide Tour. Just look at the results in the 4 majors each year to see how good the players from the European Tour are. It cannot compete with the USPGA Tour for prizemoney and probably depth over the full field but the top line players (Tiger excluded) are of very similar ability.

I would agree with that and it just keeps getting stronger, no one dominates like Tiger yet the quality is always very high with alot of close finishes and scoring. Look at some of the winners this year....Kaymer, Scott and Tiger. It is a very strong tour imo
