I have a question. I have a new 46 inch shaft and adapter for a Cobra King F6+ that should be here tomorrow. My question is this. Once I install the adapter to the shaft will I need to trim the butt end any? I'm short and it's my understanding 45.5 is standard. Could I trim the butt end to make it 44.5 or will that screw it up. Thanks guys.

Yes. You can measure your current shaft length and cut this shaft to match that. When cutting, remember to wrap masking tape around the end of the shaft. You can use a good hacksaw. What it do it to score around the shaft lightly with a first pass and rotate it to get the cut perpendicular. Then keep cutting and rotating until you cut through. Clean the edge with sandpaper before putting on the grip.

One more thing to consider is that cutting an inch off the shaft will drop the swing weight a bit, which depending on how sensitive you are to it, could change the feel of the club.  You can easily add weight back to the head using lead tape, or if you don't like how that looks, take it to a shop and they'll add hot melt inside the head.  Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the input. I have a diamond Dremel wheel to trim the shaft with so that is no problem on that end. I think I'm going to trim it to standard length and see how it plays. It's a lighter shaft than the one currently in it and I don't want to make any changes I'll regret. It is fun learning how to do this stuff on your own with a little help from your friends! I'll post a picture when I finish on Monday. The grip doesn't come till then lol.

I believe cutting an inch off the butt end of the shaft will lower swingweight by about 6 points, so 12g worth of lead tape. Assuming it all stays on as the driver gets used 😀

haha that's a good point!  Didn't realize how much that would actually be.

Yea, been there, done that. Made my driver unplayable after cutting 1.5" off of it. I would have needed to tape a fishing sinker on my driver head to get the swingweight back to where I wanted it 😉

Then I found out later after doing a real fitting that I needed more weight on my driver shaft to begin with, so cutting my old driver was literally the worst possible thing for me to do.

Let's say your golf clubs designed length is 45". I would base the change in shaft length from this value. If you buy a golf shaft it would come at 46 inches. I wouldn't then say cutting it to 45" would decrease the designed swing weight by 6 points. I would say you are close to what the golf club was designed to.

Losing swingweight points is not necessarily bad. I trimmed 1.5 inches off my Titleist driver and lost 8 swingweight points but I am actually hitting the driver better than ever because it feels lighter and I'm 60 years old.

That’s a good point. For some, the lower swing weight will help out.

I’ll guess it maybe due to how aggressive a golfers transition is and swing speed.

Well guys here is the finished product. Once tip was installed and grip the shaft length ended up being 45.5 inches. I decided to leave it at standard length and play it there. I can always go back and trim if needed but hoping I won't have too. I did do one thing that the next time I won't. I put the grip on yesterday before installing it on the head making the grip major label underneath which is no big deal since I usually install them under anyway. First super stroke grip I have used and kinda wanted it on top lol but no big deal. Hopefully I'll get to try this baby on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Thanks for the help appreciate everyone's input.
