Need a Name for a Tournament and Trophy

Having failed to come up with a good name for a little tournament (and a trophy) we're having in the fall, I thought I'd appeal to the wider audience here to help me come up with a name.

I'd like the name to be something like the "Travers Cup" (Jerry Travers) or something like that - a good, American golfer from a long time ago. We're currently all Americans playing in the tournament, and honoring one of golf's past legends seems an appropriate way to go.

I've given up on finding a good name from the name of this site - Trapper Cup, Sandy Cup, Sand Trap Cup - all combinations sound bad to me.

The trophy itself is somewhat like the claret jug, and the tournament is a Ryder Cup-like tournament with two teams.

The person who first comes up with the winning entry gets, uhhhh, I dunno, but I'll think of something worthwhile and hopefully suited to the winner.

The first U.S. Open was played in Newport (Newport Cup) and won by Horace Rawlins (the Rawlins Cup) - he's British. John J. McDermott (McDermott Cup) was the first American to win it. Francis Ouimet (Ouimet Cup) won it famously in 1913 with his sidekick Eddie Lowery (Lowery Cup). Walter Hagen (Hagen Cup) won not long after, of course, and then future champions included Bobby Jones (too overdone) and Billy Casper (Casper Cup).

OK, having given it another weekend of thought, I've narrowed it down to three:
a) The Newport Cup
b) The Spackler Cup
c) The Bagger Cup

The first is my least favorite, but I figured I'd throw one serious one in there.

Anyway, what I need now are two team names for those. Perhaps one team name could be "The Gophers" for the Spackler Cup... but I can't think of an appropriate second team name.

Bagger = Bagger Vance, for those who are in the dark a bit.

So, team names? What can anyone think of?

As for team names, I was thinking of something simple like Team Jones and Team Hagan. But hey, I never was very creative.

What about naming it after A. W. Tillinghast? He designed the Open course you can play (Bethpage Black) and this year's PGA course (Baltusrol). The Tillinghast Trophy.

I've actually come around to liking the name "The Newport Cup" more than before. The teams could be "Team Bagger" and "Team Spackler" to throw in a bit of irreverence, but at least the name of the tournament sounds like it's not a complete joke.

I'll put my thought forward for what its worth,what about THE TREVINO TROPHY or seeing as The Golden Bear has retired from competitive golf now THE GOLDEN BEAR MEMORIAL,thats the best i can do people.

I'm still partial to The Sandhill Cup, given that our inital tournament is being played in the Sandhills of NC. That would be my "serious" choice.
