  1. i think the title is crude and possibly offensive. seeing from what you said in the body of your post, there is nothing offensive. however, was it necessary to use that title for the topic?
  2. from what i've read it's slightly softer than a comparable dg flex.
  3. not to bash on you but i don't understand your logic. hybrids are supposed to be EASIER than irons to hit. if you can't hit irons, maybe you can hit hybrids? unless you didn't know hybrids were easier to hit....but you must have been living under a rock to have that view

    FBR Open

c.villegas. gooo spiderman i would also love for anthony kim to do well. he's been playing quite well this year so far.
  5. the smiley icon .... look at ALL of them and the brand logos are at the bottom
  6. i'm pretty sure my lower body starts shifting right before my backswing starts. but i voted for exactly the same because that's the feeling i try to go for. i read all that stuff about lag and letting your lower body lead etc but when i did it, i overdid it and my hands/arms got way behind and ended up hitting lots of pushes/blocks...
  7. unless you're old and have joint problems or need some vibration dampening, definitely steel. The ping fitter that drops by my local course every know and then along with my teacher said that. steel will be much more consistent
  8. i use my 56* for a lot of shots. almost everything ~85 and in, except for when i go up a couple clubs for lower bump & runs etc...
  9. funny. i JUST bought a set from my friend today. there's still snow covering most of the courses and driving ranges so I can't wait to hit them.. hope they're as good for me as they are for you
  10. and they're going to release a tour burner tp driver
  11. I really didn't like the newer big bertha. I preferred my friend's old big bertha steelhead plus That being said, I haven't hit the x or the x-hot (which i know you didn't mention) but I've heard pretty good things about both, especially the x-hot off the tee
  12. 260 something. OOOOOH yeah long driving hahah. it was this past winter break when i was in LA. I'm going through some swing changes so MUCH better than my last season's average of 230.... I was hitting it 240-250 mostly . But that drive was a fairly low drive that ran a lot, up to the green. I was ecstatic to find it on the green as i had never hit anything over 240 before winter break.
  13. favorite is around 100-110, a nice flush 52* feels great to me least favorite has to be trying to hit the green with a 3. so around 200 or so . in terms of actual shot shots... favorite = high draw .. least is punch fades/draws (i really need to work on those because i end up fading most of them but i can't always fade when i want to )
  14. also for a less-scientific reason: if you're wearing more layers, they may inhibit your swing slightly, restricting your body turn; also causing a distance loss.
  15. ^ agreed. that's pretty much what i would say
  16. i would do my 17* hybrid (probably good for around 220 down to idk.. I'm sure i could play it almost all the way down to 150 with half swings etc, putting) 7 iron (160 and in some) 56* wedge ( 85 and in, chipping , sand)
  17. I think the shaft is the most important part 1. The vast majority of OEM's have done lots of research and testing on their product and would not release too much "garbage." Thus, the differences between most comparable driver heads is NOT a bigger factor than shaft selection. Although some may stand out more than others performance-wise, you are looking at mostly cosmetic, feel, and sound differences. 2. The shafts dictates so much about the result. With the wrong shaft, you can lose distance, lose control, have a ballooning flight, have line drives, have way too much spin, have too little spin, etc etc. If it came down to it, I would rather pick a shaft that suits my swing and have a randomly selected head put on it VERSUS a head that i chose with a randomly selected shaft on it.
  18. haven't tried them on so i can't say anything for them in terms of comfort. but I think both the adidas tour 360 (which i have and LOVE) and the dry joys look better.
  19. My dad's got a condo in pasadena (which i know isn't quite LA but close enough) and there's a cool course right next to the rose bowl called brookside. i played there a bunch and am looking forward to playing there this winter break. it's quite cheap, especially evening rates. honestly i have no idea what the LA area is like so that could be quite far from you? but just my .02 & me trying to help =]
  20. i for some reason find the callaway x-forged irons to be gorgeous haha and pretty much all mizuno mp's
  21. idk about getting in the zone. i think this was somewhat different? i was playing a hs match. started off. double. triple. all season bad starts screwed me over for the rest of the 9. so i just told myself, whatever it doesn't matter. you're already 5 over.. just have fun don't care. and i became completely apathetic. next hole. hit the green. lagged a REALLY long putt like 3 feet away. got careless. so i ended up with a bogey. and then i went on to par the next 6 holes. hit every single green in regulation, except for one. in which i putted in from about 30 feet to save par. always in the fairway. it was amazing. total of 6 over.
  22. j.crew chinos j.crew/polo polos and then either this leather belt i got from ae. or various ribbon belts from j.crew please everyone here tell me you don't wear your stuff super baggy. i cringe whenever (all the time) i see someone wearing a polo that is 13 sizes too big for them where the sleeves go down to their elbow, ideally it should be not too much more than halfway down your upper arm. especially pants too. no need to be baggy as hell. slim is the way to go.
  23. i go out alone on my course a bunch. like usually afternoon sometime. it's nice to be able drop a couple balls, take some extra practice shots, do a little more practice while there aren't very many people. however if there's someone with a spot, i'll join them. either or, i'm content
  24. idk about the irons specifically as i've never tried them, but yes. steel shafts. they will be much more consistent than graphite shafts and you don't need the softer feel of graphite shafts as you don't have any joint problems or anything i assume. if you have a consistent slice, i bet you will slice all drivers, just some worse than others. take a few lessons is my best advice. and yes i've heard good things about that rife
  25. he's swinging flat if anything. that's definitely not steep in the least. also swinging steep has nothing to do with club staying open or closed. that has more to do with clubface rotation with your hands/arms. anddd a push isn't cause by an open clubface. push is square clubface with in to out path. if it was open, it would be a banana slice. as someone already said, i think you just need to turn your hands over a bit more and maybe get a bit steeper of a swing.
