Aspartame, High Fructose Corn, Raw Cane Sugar...
meenman replied to GolfLug's topic in The Grill Room
As my own (unintentional) human guinea pig, i can tell you that diet soda does nothing to help weight loss. Drinking 3-4 coke zero's a day, 4 days a week over a 16 hour work shift put some serious weight gain on me - basically giving back all i had lost when cutting myself back to one regular coke a day. Over the past month, I have gone to water as my drink of choice and am slowly on my way back down. Mind you, I have horrible eating habits - while my work partner stops for fast food 3-4 times a day, i eat nothing - my only meal is when i get home at 9 or 10 at night and then immediately go to bed since i have to get up at 5:30 the next day. I will stick to my morning monster rehab and no more than 3 coke zeros a week. -
Come on bill, playing from the tips as a 19 HC is far from justified - if you have the distance, then obviously you have a low golf IQ and are teeing off with the wrong clubs. Dont kid yourself, you are not hitting a significant amount of par 5s in 2 nor are you hitting pitch shots as your second shot on par 4s at your handicap. Now if you have just not adjusted your profile handicap and dont know how to, then i take it all back.

on the bright side, i dont have to take tomorrow off after already taking thursday off

Adam Scott with a nice finish - in case everyone else self destructs....

that and *bababooey* wasnt even cool 20 years ago. Seriously though, this is probably the first tournament I have ever watched all 4 days of (missed a little bit friday as i tee off a bit later in the morning) If they can keep my interest for 4 days, they must be doing something right.

I really have no problem with Fox on this one. They already have the best baseball and football coverage, in a few short years, their golf coverage will be second to none.

Wilson Duo - got a free 2 pack when ordering some other balls - I could not hit them into the water fast enough.

I was B-FIt for Bridgestone Tour B330-RX golf balls. Graeme McDowell -8 Ian Poulter -10 John Daly -7

I dont book online because most of my play is at my club and I pretty much have set tee times the days I play. If I do play at a reciprocal course, the tee time has to be made through my home pro shop.

OK kind of along the same lines - can anyone give an educated opinion if this is legit. I played in a friends one day member / guest last week (fairly expensive club, real nice course) Format was best 2 balls net out of the foursome. My course HC was a 22, my buddy was a 19, one of the other guys an 8 and I have no idea on the fourth. We shot 17 under. The winning team was 33 under - just seemed a little low to me.

From Arjun Atwals caddie on facebook... "Gonna be a fun weekend at St Jude. Been a wild week so far. Rental Car stolen Sunday in broad daylight from hotel parking lot. Clubs included. Ping guys worked to get a set put together. Gave us Hunter Mahans backup set for Monday and things didn't go too well. New set built on Tuesday, new bag flown in, his wife sent the back up putter that arrived Thursday at noon. After 65 yesterday here for the weekend. Tune in today and tomorrow. It's been a hell of a ride this week so far. These are the stories you read about."

It was the regular bertha, went with the same weight shaft i have in the 913 (which i was fitted for) unfortunately i got out of work at 9pm that day and needed something for the next morning. I tried it for 8 rounds and multiple range sessions, but i wont take a big loss on it as i bought it on sale.

I played the original AP1s for years until switching to the x hots a couple of years ago - with the switch my consistency and distance both improved greatly. I got greedy and switched to the x2 hots last year and like them even more.
-
Agree with this - I have a the x hot 3+4 but that x2 hot 6 i have feels like i am cheating.

I picked one of these up when my 913 D2 was being fixed and i needed a driver for a tournament. I played it for a month and was never able to hit it right, never sounded right and my drives (good and bad) were 30 yards shorter than i hit the Titleist. One of my friends has one and absolutely kills it it. Is there some hidden glitch with this club that I am not aware of?

Not to defend any other knuckleheadedness in the thread, but basically his club is profiting off of him. If they use GHIN, the handicap expires at the end of the calender year, unless you sign up sometime in either October or November and then the next year is included. The club itself either pays for half a year if someone signs up later in the year or gets a refund if they cancel the index before half the year. Years ago, my club was famous for shutting down GHIN accounts to improve their bottom line. I do know when I would sign my father in law up in august so he would be eligible for member/guest, I usually paid a discounted fee. Either way, after one revision, his old index would be back.

I see that both cheaters (brady and montana) were manhandled by the great New York Football Giants. Sometimes good does beat evil.

My review is posted here: http://thesandtrap.com/products/snell-golf-get-sum/reviews/5067 I will say that I was nothing less than pleased. -
No eagles and at least 8 bunker hole outs that i can recall. Some were for double bogey - basically the old FU shot that happened to go in. Last one was for par on a hole I received 2 strokes on - and still got cut for the skin.

Suggestions for a new GPS unit?
meenman replied to Shindig's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
It is very inconsistent. For some reason it glitches on the 6th hole of my home course. Originally it showed me 84 yards out from center of green no matter where i was on the hole (a par 5) This is the only hole i need for it to show distances to all hazards as i need to carry (or lay up) at 2 hazards before the green. I strongly suggest that you go to www.skygolf,com, go to support, supoort forums, skycaddie touch to read what others are posting. I have no experience playing holes with 2 greens, but the reviews on this are less than favorable. In my opinion, skygolf has some nice features, i had no complaints with my SG5, but the touch is still substandard - future updates may or may not fix things. It is a nice looking unit, but we are 8 or 9 updates in and things are still not as advertised. -

There is nothing illegal about the skycaddie - they have had they layup feature for years. I went through the pre-order mess with these people, so i am a bit jaded. My biggest current issue with the touch is that it is slow as hell changing screens - especially when i need it. Also it would just be faster for me to connect the cable to my computer rather than using bluetooth to sync. On the plus side, when I dropped mine a few weeks ago, they did have a replacement sent to me within a few days for $89 out of warranty. -
The Saturday group I play with is a little loose with the rules, so when it is a team event some get a little upset that i do not take 2 off the first tee or insist on playing my ball as it lies in tree roots. Fridays a bit more money is at stake, so I can annoy some by making them putt out a 4 footer that I know they can not make since they always give it to themselves otherwise. Sounds about right, my watch comes out with the same approximate numbers when I ride.

I am an android guy for the most part, but this 5 year old macbook i recently picked up is faster and more advanced than my one year old windows laptop.

From what I read, I received mine about a week after everyone else, but I will get my review in by the end of the weekend. -
looking for a square head driver

Yes, there was nothing better than the sound of old the nike sumo as i shanked ball after ball on the range as a newbie. I gave it to my father in law within a couple of months and he loved it.
