  1. I would want to know what they shot. I have never heard of a league handling absences like that. Both leagues I've played on if you missed a day you forfeited that persons points or you had to find a sub who would play off scratch unless they already established a handicap on that league.

    Brooks Koepka

He can simultaneously not care what people think of him and also want to be in promos. Him being in more promos allows him to negotiate for more money in contracts (assuming he has a good manager).
  3. If he can't take skepticism/criticism from strangers on an internet golf forum, there is no way he will be able to handle the struggle/grind that it takes to make it as a pro golfer. This same topic comes up all the time from various people and usually ends the same way. They are serious for about 6 months to a year, putting in what they think is hard work (usually in a super inefficient way) then realize they have only improved a few shots (not even to scratch) and have another 5+ shots to improve before they are even competitive at any pro level and quit (usually losing a ton of money). Could this kid do it? Sure, but don't expect others to just coddle him when they know how hard the task is. If he is super serious, do like all the other greats have done, use the criticism as fuel and prove everyone wrong.
  4. A good start may be tracking your stats (if you are not doing that already) to see if there is anything that stands out. Something with strokes gained relative to the handicap you are looking to get to would be ideal.
  5. Yeah the wind speed/direction definitely should have been recorded especially since they are saying the golf ball aerodynamics can have up to an 8 yard impact on distance. That should be made even worse in the wind. Also just as a general question to everyone, are there any places you can get fitted for a ball that is full flight with a trackman? I've only really seen indoor fittings for balls with maybe the exception being manufacturer fitting locations. It seems like it would be impractical to do because of having to separate balls at whatever range you are at.
  6. Yeah it definitely seems like it. It would be nice to see an open dialogue between the TXG guys and the MGS guys about the testing as they are having conflicting results, but MGS just brushes all comments off that ask for clarity. A test procedure along with the data would have been really nice.
  7. It is kind of odd that the test shows almost identical numbers for the longest and shortest balls with the only difference being 3mph ball speed. Are the aerodynamics really that bad on the shortest ball to cause that big of a distance loss?
  8. You may want to include the link to your review in your OP.
  9. The data is pretty interesting but doesn't surprise me all that much tbh. I noticed very little difference between all the golf balls I've tried. The only one I had a visible/measurable change with was the Titleist AVX (Which launched lower and spun less), I gained about 5-10 yards per club. Edit: I found that MGS did a podcast about the testing and findings.
  10. It really depends on how ill fitting your current equipment is to you. The worse the initial set is the bigger the improvements you can expect to see. The big key is finding a high quality fitter. Most people get fitted for free at a big box store and are surprised that they don't see any improvements. It's hard to fit someone when they only have 3 shaft offerings and aren't will to change club head specs (loft, lie, etc) on the spot and have you retest. Also most "fitters" at the stores don't have a ton of training.
  11. Striking the ball perfectly would lead to your best scores. It's the combination of both that brings people back. If you only care about ball striking and not scoring, you can just go to a driving range.
  12. I was listening (not watching) and heard that toe ball. I thought to myself "That sounds familiar, sounded like a shank."
  13. I do hate when those kids walk in my lawn.
  14. What is so magical about age 35?
  15. I haven't. I was on pace for a 6 hour (maybe longer) round, but left mid round instead of enduring that pain.
  16. I think it would be anyone under a 7 handicap.
  17. I remember in a high school golf match we experienced all four seasons in a round. It started at 60 and sunny, then it started raining, which switched hail, which switched to snow on the final couple holes.
  18. Agreed. He probably would have gained some fans if he said that instead.
  19. You have to know that breaking a rule is going to come with a consequence, not that I agree with the rule but it is a rule none the less. The 3 month suspension does not seem that extreme.
  20. Yeah I followed the same process. I'm not really sure, it was like 10 years ago. I think it was a couple weeks. I assume they have to get the club back, evaluate it, then ship the new one out. So it depends how quick the shipping and turn around is.
  21. Yeah, I had a R9 that was replaced after the face cracked.
  22. I have ran into a few issues using GG Live. I noticed it is not accurate at picking up fairways, my would be a good 10 yards from the edge of the fairway and it marks it has in the rough. Not sure if they can do something about that. The only other issues are the app crashes quite frequently and sometimes if two holes are close together sometimes it add shots from the previous hole to the current one. These problems have kinda pushed me from using it as frequently, I mostly only use it when I play alone now.
  23. I had half a set break like this (7 or so). I emailed Game Golf and told them the weld was bad along with pictures like you have here and they sent me a whole new set free.
  24. Idk I picked up a new putter at the beginning of last year but this is making me rethink my decision. May need to look into getting fit for an Edel.
  25. That seems like more of the norm. For me, It has been kind of mixed but its probably just the area that I live (lots of rural/blue collar areas). There are people who dress like pro's that act like entitled pricks but also people who wear super casual clothes who are just out to get drunk. The older I get, the less I care what other people are doing as long as they aren't being dbags.
